Thane: Temples are the energy centers and seat of faith of Hindu Dharma. Temples hold an important position in the society; similar to that of the temple in one's home. However, the existing 'secular' Maharashtra Government is devising a plot to gain control over temples and religious institutions on the basis of the provisions of the 15th Law Commission report. It is necessary to oppose this. Likewise, the 'Temple Takeover Bill' which seeks to convert temples into tourist spots and government offices,so also the revised 'Anti-Superstition Bill' which restricts the religious freedom of Hindus and seeks to impose a ban on Saints, religious practices and traditions are equally dangerous. As a result of this Bill, many religious practices of Hindu Dharma can acquire a criminal status.

The Government has devised a cruel plot of destroying Hindu Dharma through these anti-religious Bills. From this point of view, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) is conducting a mass awareness drive to educate all about the true nature of these anti-Hindu Bills. After conducting a Dharmajagruti meet at Mumbai, a similar meet had been organised at a playground near Bhagwati School in Thane at 6 pm today. During this meet, devout Hindus resolved to present a united front against the said anti-religious acts and compel the Government to suspend the same.

This well-planned and systematic meet started with lighting of the auspicious 'Deep' at the hands of revered Mohanbuva Ramdasi of the Samarth Ramdas sect. Bharatacharya Prof. S.G. Shevade, Central Vice Chairman of the VHP Shri. Anandshankar Pandya, Deputy Leader of Shivsena Shri. Anant Tare, BJP MLA Shri. Sanjay Kelkar, VHP's Konkan region Dharmaprasar Chief Adv. Deepak Gaikwad, Kerala Region Defence Association's Shri. Mannanur Ravindran, HJS' National Spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Samant were the dignitaries present at the meet. 2500 devout Hindus were also present at the meet.

All the dignitaries were presented with a shawl, sreephala (coconut), flower bouquet and an idol of Sree Ganesha made by Sanatan Sanstha.

The program was jointly hosted by Shri. Satish Kocharekar and Shri. Vishwas Damale, members of HJS. Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the State spokesperson of HJS enlightened the audience on various campaigns undertaken by HJS, gave review of its activities, how HJS is spreading its wings over all parts of the country and world, responses from people and success achieved so far. Photo-exhibition by FACT displaying assaults on Hindu Dharma and exhibition on Samiti’s progress so far were main attraction of the program.

Rulers will not be allowed to enter temples if the anti-Hindu Acts are passed - Pujya Mohanbuva Ramdasi
It is time to use the cymbals of Warkaris and crutches of Samarth against the Acts. Pujya Mohanbuva Ramdasi warned the rulers that they would not be allowed in the temples if such anti-Hindu Acts are passed. He said that if through these Acts, the Govt. tries to intimidate devotees; the rulers would be shoved off. Hindus will unite against them and the sanctity of temples would be maintained.

Why all Acts are against Hindu Dharma? - Bharatacharya S. G. Shevade
Bharatacharya S. G. Shevade raised a query that in secular political system, why all the laws like ‘Black Magic’ and ‘Temple take-over’ are not applicable to Muslims and Christians. Why such laws are made applicable to only Hindus? People bragging about science do not know what spiritual science is. The only motive of the Government is to assault Hindu Dharma and to arrest saints under such Acts. Shri. Chandrakant Handore, the Minister for Social Justice, who is trying to pass these Acts attended a ‘vaastu-puja’ function recently. This shows the double standards of the rulers.

Condition of Hindus is like lepers - Dr. Durgeh Samant
We call ourselves Hindu; but we look at us and at our Dharma through the glasses given to us by the Western world and communists. Hindus are not ready to accept even the direct attacks on Hinduism. Condition of Hindus is like that of a leper. A leper does not feel anything even if he gets burnt or cut as his nerves become numb. They do not react in anyway. If Hindus are not aware of the assaults on Dharma, their condition is like a senseless leper, said Dr. Durgesh Samant, the national spokesperson of HJS.

He said that a Muslim does not have to be told to be alert towards his religion whereas Hindus do not even sense the attacks on Dharma. If anything happens against their religion, Muslims, let them belong to any political party, would come together against such attack; but a Hindu will never join hands with another Hindu in case of attacks on Hindu Dharma, regretted Dr. Samant. He said that if India has to remain as one nation, there is no alternative but to revive Sanatan Hindu Dharma. Revival of Sanatan Hindu Dharma will be the dawn of good fortune for this country. This meting and activities of HJS are like the sand collected by squirrels in constructing the great bridge. We must collect such pearls for our future generations.

Great work HJS, but is it enough?

No, it is not! Much stronger action needs to be taken to protect our faith.

How? HJS, recall that in one of my previous articles, I had suggested that we as Hindus should bring Delhi and Mumbai at an absolute standstill for one day of protest against this bill.

Get a million people onto the streets of Delhi, and a million people onto the streets of Mumbai - peacefully surround the Houses of Parliament, the Airport and all the police stations in Delhi, and the same in Mumbai, and the processions to be headed by Swamis, Pandits, Pujaris and politicians alike.

Good luck, and best wishes.
