Panaji (Goa):
The Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) has submitted a memorandum to the chief minister Digambar Kamat alleging that Chhatrapati Shivaji has not been given prominence compared to the Mughal rulers, in VII standard history text book of the NCERT.

In the text book ‘Social Science – part 2’ there are pictures of Mughal kings but none of Shivaji and Shambaji. The state government must declare its policy on Shivaji, demanded HJS in the memorandum which is also signed by Mayem MLA Anant Shet.

Copies of the memorandum have been sent to opposition leader Manohar Parrikar, education director Celsa Pinto and others.

Last year, a separate chapter was included in another history text book after the matter was raised by HJS, a press note issued here said.
