The issue of 'Idgah', if ignored will be presented before Legislative Council

September 26, 2006
Paithan: On 13th August, water from 'Nathsagar' was released in the river and a wall of 'Idgah' had collapsed. The collapse of the wall exposed a 'ghat' made up of stones. It is the opinion of experts that it must have been built in the rule of King Shalivahan and there was a temple belonging to Hemad sectarians.

The Archeology Department is investigating the matter. Shri. Sandipan Bhumre, a Shiv Sena MLA said that if the concerned Department ignores this issue, he will put forth the matter in the Legislative Council. Recently, members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti called on him. He was explained the activities of HJS. He appreciated the same and assured that even at Paithan, HJS can start its activities. It was also suggested that HJS can start its campaign regarding celebration of Navaratri festival at local level.
