O Hindus, pay gratitude to God for success !

Mumbai: The Bill for so-called eradication of superstitions but in fact, aimed at attacking Hindu Dharma, has been finally canceled after four years. Secretariat of the Ministry has informed the Government about the same. In case the Government wants, the Bill will have to be presented afresh in the legislature. (The anti-Hindu Bill, that aimed at attacking Hindu Dharma, has been canceled due to the strong opposition of Shiv Sena, BJP and other pro-Hindu Organizations and Sects. Hindus must pay gratitude at the feet of God for this success and be prepared to see that it is not presented again ! – Editor SP)

During the last regime of Congress – NCP Government in Maharashtra, a Bill with the title of ‘Maharashtra Jadutona Va Anishta aani Aghori Pratha Bill 2005 [Eradication of Black Magic and Undesirable and Heinous Practices Bill 2005] was presented in the Legislative Assembly (LA). In the winter session of the LA held in December 2005, the Bill was passed by majority amid pandemonium but it was held up in the Legislative Council by Mr. Diwakar Raote, a Shiv Sena MLA. The Bill was opposed by Shiv Sena, BJP and pro-Hindu Organisations and Sects as it would have adversely affected the customs, traditions and culture followed by Hindus.

Later the Bill was gathering dust. Since a new LA has now been elected in the State, the earlier Bill has been canceled in terms of clause 196 (5) of the Indian Constitution. The LA secretariat has accordingly informed the Ministry vide a letter. The Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe has called a meeting of the supporters and challengers of the Bill on 17th March before the start of LA session.

It is good that the bill has lapsed. As Mr. Ashok Chavan, CM, is a devotee of Satya Sai Baba, I don't think a similar bill will be introduced during his tenure but we have to be watchful. Also, the names of those who voted in favour of this bill in the assembly should be publicised in their respective constituencies so that the Hindus there will know that he is acting against their interests. By the way, what is the fate of the Temple Takeover Bill?
