A member of 'Vivek vahini' of ANS accepts their mistake

September 5, 2006
Satara:Smt. N. S. Maner, the Principal of Azad College and a member of 'Vivek Vahini' of ANS (Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti - Committee for Eradication of Blind Faith) accepted that it was a mistake on their part to appeal to students to join the Ganesh idol donation drive of ANS. She was talking to the delegation of 'Hindu Yuva Sanghatana'.

A representation on behalf of 'Hindu Yuva Sanghatana' was submitted to Smt. Maner that students should not be used for carrying out anti-religious drive of donating Ganesh idols carried out by ANS. Smt. Maner said that she was a member of 'Vivek Vahini'. Students did participate in their drives but this year their response was minimal. She agreed that the appeal made by ANS to students of 'Rashtriya Seva Yojana' to participate in their drive was wrong. One of the professors who is also an active member of ANS said that in the past 1-2 years, the Ganesh idols collected by ANS were thrown in mines. It was wrong on their part.
