The citadel of ANS at Bhor won by staunch Hindus

September 4, 2006
Pune :Bhor Taluqa in Pune district was considered to be a citadel of the ANS (Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti - Committee for Eradication of Blind Faith) till two years ago. Donation of Ganesh idols and other drives of ANS had good response from the locals. But last year, response was very less and this year, there was no sign of members of ANS . Even last year only 7 to 8 idols were given to ANS as donation. ANS has therefore, wound up its activities in Bhor. For the past two years, the staunch Hindus have been appealing to people to immerse the idols in flowing water and their efforts have borne fruits.

This year also, the staunch Hindus circulated pamphlets to create awareness among people in this regard and stalls were erected to make people aware. In this campaign, members of organizations like RSS,Pratapgad Utsav Samiti, Shiva Pratishthan, HJS etc. had participated. Immersion was done peacefully and the devotees were feeling good. Administration and police also cooperated in the endeavor.
