Response from Police Superintendent to HJS representation

Ponda (Goa): Mr. Jayesh Thali, the coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for the State of Goa has received a reply from the Police Superintendent (SP) of Goa that it is impossible to provide security for every temple in Goa at night. The reply was received in connection with a representation given by Mr. Thali on behalf of HJS. In this representation, a demand was made to provide security to Hindu temples in view of a rise in incidents wherein Hindu Deities’ idols were damaged. In his reply, the SP has stated that the matter has been discussed with the deputy area police office and police stations as also with the people, following which, it was decided that providing security at night to temples was impossible. Presently, patrolling is being done in the night on two-wheelers around temples.
