Furious reactions in the journalism circle over the news of ‘Narco’ test of the editor of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ Pruthviraj Hazare !

Thanks to the reporter and editor for providing strength to the editor of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ !

Miraj (Maharashtra): We were aware of the fact that while following the heritage of radiant journalism of Lokmanya Tilak, someday we will have to stand in the cage of an accused. However, we never diverged from the aim of presenting the truth before  society about the atrocities on Hindus. If anyone thinks that we have done a crime by presenting the atrocities on Hindus, then the entire Hindu brethren should tell us that this is a crime. Currently we are accused of fueling Miraj riots. We had heard of the saying, ‘Thieves are set free but ascetics are hanged,’ But we are experiencing the same happening with us now. If the question is of fueling the riots and if our Narco test is going to provide an answer to it, we are ready for the Narco test anytime. But we have a condition - the detailed report of our Narco test should be presented before the public. If this transparency is acceptable to the government, we have no objection for Narco tests for all the allegations against us. We are not perturbed by the Narco test.

What happened to the Narco tests done till date?

We are challenging the very process of using such a method for an editor, which should normally be used for getting the crimes admitted by the terrorists and criminals. Till now the Narco test has been conducted for many, but what was achieved from it? Maharashtra has not yet forgotten what was revealed from the Narco test of Abdul Karim Telagi, the accused in security scam worth some thousand crores of Rupees. What will be the outcome of our Narco test? Only Hinduttva ! Parishkrut (Pure) Hinduttva !! Therefore we were never afraid of the Narco test in the past nor today. There is a call for our Narco test; , hence the intention of the government to accuse us in Miraj riots case is quite evident. What a justice ! This is mockery of legal power! Mr. MP Bharatkumar Raut

This is mockery of the law. Giving this kind of treatment to an editor is like misusing the legal power. Narco test is conducted for underworld gundas and criminals like Telagi. It is very inappropriate to do the same to an editor. (Mr. Raut was former editor of ‘Maharashtra Times’)

If police have any objection towards the editor of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, they should investigate and go to the root of it in a legal framework. However, it is a very incorrect to do Narco test for that. The editor’s job is to reduce the communal tension in the society. If one feels that any editor has been irresponsible, then he can be investigated legally. However, the Miraj police announcing conducting Narco test of an editor means misuse of the law. Law is a double-edged weapon. It is incorrect to use law for one group in a lopsided way rather than using it in appropriate manner.

This probably is the first incident of its kind where it is proposed to conduct a Narco test of an editor. It will start a new tradition. This will then suppress the freedom of press. In fact, the candidate, who published a handout creating communal tension in the society during assembly elections, should have been reprimanded first. Instead of doing that, considering the editor to be guilty for publishing that handout is very incorrect. Publishing a handout cannot be a crime. This is police coercion.

I feel pity on those demanding Narco test ! – Senior Journalist Mr. Arvind Vitthal Kulkarni

I feel sympathetic towards Police commissioner of Sangli Mr. Krishnaprakash who has demanded a ‘ Narco’ test for the editor of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ group Mr. Prithviraj Hazare and seeker Mr. Madhusudan Kulkarni. I, who has always felt pride for the police force, feel very sad that he has to succumb so much for the wishes of senior officers; because I feel that Mr. Krishnaprakash will not take such a decision on his own. This is because Mr. Krishnaprakash knows exactly in which mosque in Miraj city, when the Miraj riots were cooked.  The leaders of the Muslim community from Miraj-Sangli are openly saying that ‘ these riots were created by people from outside India’.

Action taken is as per the directions of the Ministry!

In the very presence of Mr. Krishnaprakash one muslim goon climbed on the top of his vehicle (during the riots) and hoisted the green flag. Mr. Krishnaprakash just laughed this away. From this, one will get an idea the orders he might have received from the ministry about how his behaviour should be in the Miraj riots. Similarly the demand for ‘ Narco’ test has also come from the ministry.

‘Narco’ test should be conducted on those who have the attitude of ‘Harassing the innocent and honouring the evil’

On 26th November Pakistani terrorists attacked Mumbai and for four days Mumbai citizens were held captive. It was a tense moment. It is still not a year this horrifying incidence happened. When this incidence happened Mr. Aaba Patil was the home minister of state and as punishment he was removed from his post. However now he has again resumed this post. So in a way, instead of punishing it is kind of honouring him that the terrorists could enter Mumbai and attack it. Through this attitude only the demand for ‘ Narco’ test has come forward. ‘Harass the innocent and honour the evil’ is the attitude of the government. In fact the ‘ Narco’ test should be done on these people only and they should be sent  where they belong.
