Merces (Goa): The devout Hindus from Merces, Goa resolved to eliminate the anti-nationals and the unrighteous with the blessings of Bhagawan Sree Krushna in the ‘Hindu Dharma-jagruti Sabha’ organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The meeting was held at Sree Santeri Devasthan’s Hall, Peribhat, Mershi at the village level. About 300 devout Hindus attended the meeting.

HJS has so far held such ‘Dharmajagruti Sabhas’ in various States in India like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala along with Goa. Such ‘sabhas’ have been held even abroad in USA and in England. The purpose of these ‘Sabhas’ is to awaken, among Hindus, reverence towards their Dharma and bring them together.

The ‘Sabha’ began with recitation of ‘Mantras’ by the students studying in Sanatan Sanstha’s Veda-pathshala followed with lighting of lamp by Mr. Jayawant Kalangutkar, the President of Sree Santeri Devasthan, Merces. Along with Mr. Kalangutkar, the ‘sabha’ was also attended by Mrs. Shubha Sawant of Ranaragini Branch of HJS, Mr. Sangam Borkar of Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Sanjay Harmalkar, the famous painter and former Shiv Sena president of Goa State, Mr. Jayesh Thali, the coordinator of HJS for the State of Goa and Mr. Sadashiv Dhond of Dharmashakti Sena.
