Tuljapur (Maharashtra): Few days back, a pamphlet was circulated by ‘Prakshal Mandal’, Sreeram Pratishthan, Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) made an appeal to the people wherein it was stated that ‘picture of Sree Bhavani Devi is kept in the packets of prasad. After having the prasad, devotees throw the packets anywhere resulting in denigration of the Goddess. Therefore, the practice of keeping Deities picture in the packets should be stopped’. (Congratulations to the devout Hindus for making efforts to stop denigration of the Goddess due to Her picture kept in the packets of prasad ! – Editor SP)

The appeal received a very good response from the traders. Some traders replaced the picture of Devi with some other picture. One trader carried out the change even on the packets made of cloth. Other few traders have also agreed to replace the picture of the Goddess in the packets of prasad.
