Protest against Hasan Mushrif for talking about filing case against ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’
Ichalkaranji (Maharashtra): A joint meeting of journalists was held here to discuss about throttling of the media by the Police and the Administration. In this meeting, a protest was registered against Hasan Mushrif of NCP for his intention to file a criminal case against ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’. On 12th October, DSP had published a circular issued by Kadir Maulana, a candidate of NCP from Sambhajinagar just as it was issued without making any changes. In an advertisement published by Hasan Mushrif with regard to his candidature in the Assembly elections, a foot-note was published in this advertisement accusing DSP being communal. In the same advertisement, it was stated that a criminal case was going to be filed against DSP in connection with the publishing of the above circular. The matter was discussed in the meeting of the media persons.
During the period when curfew was imposed in the city, an article was published in a weekly paper named ‘Vivek’ giving details about the situation. The reporter who had published this article was intimidated by the provincial officer, Vijaysinh Deshmukh in front of Deputy Police Superintendent, Pradip Bhosale. This issue was also discussed in the above meeting. Mr. Sanjay Kudalkar, a representative of ‘B’ news channel and who was presiding the meeting said, “The reporter has not published any vicious matter to create rift in the society but only information based on facts has been published.” Mr. Deshmukh was also condemned in the meeting.
Mr. Dharmaraj Jadhav from ‘Dainik Rashtrageet’ who is the president of ‘Shramik Patrakar Sangh’ said that the standpoint of the Government against the media and the intimidating of a media person is not right. In this meeting, matters related to unwarranted arrest of Sagar Chougule, a distributor of the newspaper, intimidation of the reporters and asking them to parade, filing of cases against Mr. Dilip Karambelkar, the Managing Editor and Mr. Anil Shelar, the Executive Editor were also discussed.
Reporters and photographers from many daily newspapers like dainik ‘Mahasatta’, ‘Pudhari’, ‘Sakaal’, ‘Tarun Bharat’, ‘Lokmat’, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, ‘Mahan Karya’, ‘Janapravas’, ‘Weekly Vastravadal’, dainik ‘Pratidhvani’, ‘Agradut’, ‘Lalkar’, ‘Sutbazar’, ‘Lokmat Samachar’, ‘IBN Lokmat’, ‘Rajasthan Patrika’, B News channel’ etc. attended the meeting.

Statement given to the Home Minister to withdraw false charges against the distributors of DSP
September 22, 2009Ashwin Shuddha Chaturthi, Kaliyug Varsha 5111
Sangali (Maharashtra): Three distributors of ‘Daily Sanatan Prabhat’ were arrested under false charges and allegations of holding illegal weapons. The arrested distributors got bail on 11th September 2009. Now however, the police are trying to frame them under IPC 143, 147, 149, 188, 337,338, 425 and 427. A statement was given to the Home Minister of Maharashtra that the police are taking this action due to harbouring personal grudges and trying to take revenge. Correspondents of Sanatan Prabhat have handed over this statement to the Home Minister.
Take action against those who have conjured up a fake case against seekers
Due to the teachings and the resultant awakening, people are now ready to serve the nation and are ready to fight to regain our National pride. Daily Sanatan Prabhat is actively involved in making people aware of their rituals and the science behind these rituals. Sanatan Prabhat has covered this riot very fairly and impartially. But the action taken against the distributors is definitely an attack on the freedom of Press. This has tarnished the image of the Police, administration and government in society. So the Home Minister ought to look into the matter. Appropriate and strict action should be taken against those who are involved in trapping the distributors of DSP in a false case and booking them under various sections.Home Minister trying to show that he is worried about the electoral code of conduct.
The Home Minister said that because of the electoral code of conduct, the administration is not ready to listen to anything. (It’s utter nonsense to say that the administration doesn’t listen. Does he mean to suggest that the general public ought to silently bear and face such incidents ? – Editor SP). He further said, “The election commission didn’t allow the display of the Afzalkhan assassination painting which was actually okayed in the Mumbai meeting. In my own constituency, the police are filing cases against my workers. But the police are not listening to me so I cannot call them now.”Source: Daily Sanatan Prabhat
Weekly Sanatan Prabhat’s copies seized by police during Miraj riots
September 17, 2009Bhadrapad Krushna Chaturdashi, Kaliyug Varsha 5111
It’s just not a mere attack on the freedom of press, but it’s an attack on Hinduism.
Miraj (Maharashtra): During the riots in Miraj, the distributors of Daily Sanatan Prabhat (DSP) were arrested and 150 copies of Weekly Sanatan Prabhat (Marathi) were seized by the police. The distributors were entering the city early in the morning on 6th September. A curfew was imposed on the city at night on 5th September. The distributors had asked and confirmed with Miraj city police whether it would be ok if the vehicle could be driven in the city in such a situation. That day, the police confirmed that DSP distributers would not have to face any problem for distribution, however if any problem were to arise while distributing Daily Sanatan Prabhat, then they should just get in touch with the Police.
But when the distributors came to the city, the police arrested them under false allegations and IPC sections. The Police went ahead and arrested the distributors of Daily Sanatan Prabhat and also seized the copies of Weekly Sanatan Prabhat (Marathi) without giving any reason. (This shameless two-faced nature of the Police should be condemned by citizens. The Police force will have to rethink their style of functioning if they wish to gain the trust and respect of innocent citizens. These Miraj riots have all but destroyed every iota of faith that people may have had in the integrity of any aspect of the Government machinery! – Editor SP)

Three seeker distributors of DSP arrested for 9 new crimes & then released !

A dangerous trap set by the Police !
O Hindus, Remember that this is not an attack only on the freedom of Newspapers, but is also an attack on Hindu Dharma
Miraj (Maharashtra): Three distributor seekers of Daily Sanatan Prabhat (DSP) were released on bail on Friday and after that the Police held them the whole day on Saturday for their enquiry. Also the Police imposed IPC sections 143, 147, 149, 188, 337, 338, 427 and 435 on seekers to capture them in a trap during the enquiry. Also internal section of the crime of damage to public property has been imposed on them. These three seekers were presented before the First Class Magistrate Mr. Jaydev Ghule on Monday and they were released by him on bail.
Three DSP distributors entered into Miraj on 5th September when curfew was imposed carrying with them the copies of DSP. When they left Miraj to collect the printed copies of DSP, they asked at the Miraj Police Station, ‘Will our vehicle be allowed to enter Miraj during the time of the curfew?” and they were given a confirmation by the Police officials in the Police Station that their vehicle would be allowed to enter Miraj.
However when the vehicle actually entered Miraj during the curfew, the Police stopped the vehicle opposite to Bhosale Clinic. Then the Police presented the three distributors of DSP before the Court on Monday under supposed allegations of carrying illegal weapons. Then the Court issued an order to keep all three distributors in Police Custody up to 11th September. On 11 September, the court released them on 2 bails of 7000 rupees and on condition that they should not reside in Miraj for 1 month. But still the Police held them for the whole day and released them late at night.
Then they all were called on 12th September for an enquiry at the Police Station. Then they were told by the Police that Police are again going to have their enquiry under IPC section 151 and held them in the Police Station. Then the Police SP of Sangli, Krushna Prakash and Dy. Police SP of Mumbai Mr. Pradhan and other 3 Police officers interrogated them. The Police asked them information about ‘Who is the Editor of Daily Sanatan Prabhat?, Who writes the Editorial comments?, Matter published in DSP, Printing process of DSP, Office of DSP, Sanatan Ashram, Administration and online edition of Daily Sanatan Prabhat’
Mr. Pradhan asked distributors, “Have you read the issue of DSP on 5th September? Matter in that issue is provocative.” (Daily Sanatan Prabhat writes about the Truth of the matter and does not indulge in mere provocative matter ! – Editor SP) Though their enquiry was over, they were forced to sit in the Police Station late into the night under the reason that the Police SP was still going to conduct a further enquiry. But in fact, the Police SP left the Police station without having any enquiry of the DSP distributors. Two distributors were kept in Police Custody for the entire night.
When Advocates of DSP distributors enquired about them in the Police Station, they got to know that all 3 of them are arrested under various IPC sections. Then Police presented them before the First Class Magistrate Mr. Ghule. Then the Police demanded 7 days of Police Custody for the three distributors through the Public Prosecutor. In this case, the Court agreed to appeal to the Advocates of the distributors and rejected the demand of the Police. At this time, Advocates of distributors presented the Police’s behavior with DSP distributors even though they were released on bail on Friday. Advocates also requested that the ‘Police should release 3 DSP distributors immediately by completing all related paper work’. The Court agreed to that request and ordered the Police to act as per the request of the Advocates.

The Police conduct an inquiry against DSP for provocative writing
September 9, 2009Bhadrapad Krushna Panchami, Kaliyug Varsha 5111
Seeker (S): Mr. Pruthviraj Hazare is the editor and he’s in Goa.
PO: Who writes in the ‘Dainik’?
S: That is done by the Editor. But why are you enquiring about the writings?
PO: Because your newspaper is provocative. It asks that ‘Hindus, wake up!’ etc. and the feelings of the people are inflamed.
S: But Sir, whatever is written in the paper is the factual position. How can it be termed as provocative?
PO: You may not feel it provocative but others do. (All those pro-Muslim constituents of the Congress regime, who do nothing to repel the attacks on Hindus, nor do they care about the oppression of Hindu women, nor hurting of religious sentiments of Hindus, but are only for Muslim votes, will naturally feel that the writing in DSP is provocative as it tells the Truth! – Editor SP)
S: Whatever is proper is only written in DSP. Have you filed a case or something against DSP?
PO: Yes. There were copies of DSP in the vehicle that we have confiscated earlier. There was provocative writing in those issues. Therefore, we have confiscated the issues and filed a case.

Three days police custody for distributors of 'Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)'
September 8, 2009

Anti-law biased police detain 3 distributors of DSP for 36 hours without regsitering any offence against them
All 3 seekers were produced before the Court today. The Police made a demand with the Court that they required time to interrogate the seekers as to the stock of weapons they have or the purpose of carrying weapons etc. and should be granted 3 days police custody. (The Police do not feel the need to interrogate Muslims who openly carry swords but they feel the need to interrogate seekers who were distributing newspapers that create awareness among people towards Dharma and Nation. - Editor SP)
Police detain seekers for 36 hours without registering any offence against them and behave very rudely with them
On 6th September 2009, 3 seekers were arrested by the police for breaking curfew. Advocate of DSP tried to get details about the case by personally going to the police station but the Police did not talk to him properly. Later, they said that no case was registered against the seekers. But suddenly, the seekers were produced before the Court in the evening.
On 7th September 2009, few seekers went to the Police Station to meet these seekers as the curfew was relaxed between 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. One of the police officers started shouting at the seekers and without finding out as to why they had gone there, he asked them to keep away and was very indecently behaving with them. When seekers told him that they wanted to meet seekers for giving them food, he very rudely told them that there was no need to give food to them. They were not going to die and he asked them to go away. (The Police feed terrorists with 'biryani' even in jail; but behave with those who work for Nation and Dharma as if they are the slaves of police - Editor SP) Later the seekers met the Station officer who asked them to meet the Police Inspector. The Police Inspector told the seekers that he was awake the whole night and was just returning from duty and the seekers could discuss the matter with other officers. But he did not tell them who were those officers. (Will the police officer give such half-hearted answers to Muslims? - Editor) The seekers waited for a while but they realised that there was no responsible officer. Even after making repeated enquiry, they were not informed about the reasons for bringing seekers to the police station or under which clause and Act, they were detained or who were the officers conducting inquiry into their case. (Such mismanagement by the police try the patience of the commom man. - Editor SP) The Police official was trying to avoid giving any explanation.
Hindus must realise that it is not just an attack on the freedom of the newspapers but it is also an attack by the police on Hinduism !
Since the riots started at Miraj, DSP has been reporting every news based on facts, about the oppression of Hindus by Muslims, biased attitude of the Police etc. Such reporting has brought forth partial behaviour of the Police with Muslims and it also enraged Hindus against the Police. The Police have, therefore, taken revenge in this manner. How are Hindus going to reply to this attack on Hinduism?Undeclared ban on DSP by the Police !
For the past two days, newspapers are being distributed in Miraj and Sangli despite curfew but the Police have arrested DSP distributors under false charge and in a way imposed an undeclared ban on DSP. Owing to such attitude of the Police of throttling the freedom of newspapers, 6th and 7th September 2009 Sangli - Kolhapur edition of DSP was not published. Hindus must keep a note of such malevolent action of the Police against a pro-Hindu newspaper in the forthcoming elections!Take benefit of the website of 'Sanatan Prabhat' !
Owimng to the unannounced ban on 'Sanatan Prabhat' by the police, the DSP issue is not distributed among our readers from Sangli and Miraj but the issue is available on its website on www.sanatan.org. All devout Hindus and readers can take advantage of the same.Source: Daily Sanatan Prabhat

Throttling of DSP under the False charge of carrying arms
Sangli (Maharashtra): After curfew was imposed in Miraj since last night, 3 seekers who were distributing ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ were taken into custody by the police under the false charge of carrying arms. The Police have also confiscated a 4-wheeler used for distribution and issues of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’
Earlier, DSP’s office located in the premises of Kore Hospital confirmed with the police station in Miraj that there would not be any problem in distribution of DSP issues in a 4-wheeler. In fact, it was informed by the Miraj Police Station that there would not be any problem in the distribution of the DSP issues and in case, the vehicle was stopped by the Police on the way, the Police Station could be informed and they would instruct the policemen to release the vehicle. DSP relied on the assurance given by the Police. As the Sanatan Sanstha seekers were distributing DSP issues, the Police took them into custody along with the bundles of DSP and the vehicle. The Police informed the DSP office that they would release them after sometime. But they expressed their inability to do so in the afternoon. It may be mentioned here that the Police have confiscated even the cell phones of the Sanatan seekers. On repeatedly calling up the police Station, DSP was just given an affirmation that the seekers were present at
the Station. But the Police did not answer the queries nor were they ready to divulge anything further information on the matter.
Do not rely on the Treacherous Police
In such a situation, seekers should not rely on the promises given by the Police since they first state something and later go back on their word and try to avoid giving any explanation and behave as if they are the benefactors. The Police allowed the distribution of other newspapers but do not expect the same facility for DSP because other newspapers have contacts with persons at different political levels. We, however, do not have such contacts. Besides, more importantly, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ is always writing against the anti-Hindu Police and the Government, therefore, no help is likely to come from the Police. The Police may in fact thus deceive us and try to catch us under some provisions of law even in future. Taking into account the waste of manpower and loss caused to the mission, it will be better that Sanatan Sanstha seekers do not believe whatever assurance the Police may give.
Hindus must realize that it is not only an attack on the freedom of newspapers but it is also an attack of the secular police on Hinduism !
Since the riots started in Miraj, DSP has been reporting the Muslim atrocities on Hindus, and so also the lenient behaviour of the Police towards the Muslims, based on hard facts. This reporting has made Hindus aware of the unfair, biased treatment meted out to Hindus and it has made them furious with the Police. Now, the Police have taken revenge in this manner. How are Hindus going to respond to such an attack on Hinduism?
Curfew in Sangli and Miraj
Administration incompetent to bring the situation under control
Yesterday, a meeting with Hindus was held in Miraj by the Home Minister but no solution could be found. Curfew was therefore, imposed from 12.30 midnight in Miraj and from 2.00 p.m. in Sangli which will be in effect till 9.00 a.m. on 7th September and till 2.00 p.m. respectively. As there was no prior intimation of the curfew, people who left their homes to go to work were driven back by the police and some of them were even taken into custody. (The Police are always prompt to take action against the harmless common man. – Editor SP)
Farm house and banana plantation of Idris Nayakwadi damaged !
At Narawad in Miraj tauka, Idris Nayakwadi, a leader of NCP has planted bananas in 1.25 acres. The plantation and farm-house has been damaged by unknown miscreants. It is learnt that it has caused losses to the tune of Rs. 5 lakhs.
Stone-pelting continues in Miraj !
Despite curfew, there have been incidents of stone-pelting reported in Miraj creating tension in some areas. Stones were pelted at a few buses. A tempo was set on fire on Mhaisal Road. The town, including the bus-stand, had a deserted look.
Markets vacated in Sangli !
After imposing curfew, the Police made citizens vacate all chowks and markets in Sangli. The weekly bazaar at Shivaji Mandai, Khanbhag was also vacated by the Police. The State transport Bus service was the worst affected due to curfew. Here citizens were stopped from going anywhere in town. Few hospitals like Sangli and Miraj Government hospitals and Miraj Mission Hospital were kept open for the public. An order has been issued to close down clinics and dispensaries. (First they allow Muslims to do whatever they want and when Hindus get angry and start retaliating, then curfew is imposed on people who are mostly Hindus. Is this Government competent enough to rule this State? – Editor SP)
SRTC’s 36 buses damaged !
During the riots going on in Miraj, Sangli and various districts, 36 buses owned by the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) have been damaged. (All political parties, mainly the Congress, who have nurtured the anti-Hindus mentality of Muslims are solely responsible for such damage. Hindus must recover this loss to national wealth from the rulers once devout Hindus come to power. – Editor SP) The transport system at Sangli, Miraj, Ashta and Islampur has been adversely affected and have inconvenienced travellers. The windowpanes of 5 buses were smashed in Ashta. The Corporation has, therefore, stopped the bus service on the Tasgaon, Ashta route and even within the town since the afternoon. Buses coming from Satara, Pune and Mumbai had to be stopped at Ashta and Ishwarpur depots thus inconveniencing many passengers. (The Govt. stopped traffic during the emergency but made no arrangements for the passengers travelling by these buses. Such an irresponsible Govt. and Administration make it imperative for people to revolutionize their thought process. – Editor SP)
The passengers had to travel by whatever means of transport was available, although illegal. Many auto-rickshaw drivers took advantage of the situation and charged the passengers higher fares. (It is very shameful that during the emergency, in the presence of policemen, illegal transport and swindling of travellers was rampant. Why should citizens pay tax and provide for such a police machinery? – Editor SP)
Arson and riots in rural areas
At Kochi in Kawathemahakal taluka, there was heavy stone-pelting among Hindus and Muslims. There were instances of damaging shops resulting in losses of thousands of rupees. Some shops were damaged at Savalaj in Tasgaon taluka. The locals have decided to remove the loudspeakers from all mosques. The situation is still tense. On some mosques, saffron flags were hoisted. There was total ‘bandh’ in Tasgaon even today.
