Defamation of Lord Ganesha by Videocon

Mumbai (Maharashtra): ‘Videocon’ company used Sree Ganesh in a horrible defamatory style in its advertisement for Washing Machines. Videocon hurt the sentiments of Billions of Ganesh devotees by showing such a defamatory advertisement during the Ganesh festival time. When HJS members told Videocon officials about this defamation, they immediately withdrew the advertisement and changed their advertisement (Congratulations to ‘Videocon’ for acting immediately after being made aware about the defamation by HJS members! – Editor SP)

This defamatory advertisement was published in ‘Daily Saamna’ & ‘Daily Lokmat’ on 28th August. In this advertisement, the head of Sree Ganesh is shown as being very big and the other parts of the body were shown very small. Sree Ganesh was carrying a bag full of gifts & one hand carries a gift. A bundle of currency notes was shown in the second hand & a bag of coins was shown in another hand. Due to such horrible defamation of Sree Ganesh in this advertisement, HJS members protested at the Videocon office by telephone. On a phone call, the company’s Marketing Executive Mr. Sachin Patil apologized to Hindus & said, “I will not repeat such mistake in future & I am taking back this defamatory advertisement immediately. You will not see this advertisement tomorrow.” He also assured HJS members that he will inform his top officials about this issue by E-mail. (If all Hindus will stop defamation of Hindu Deities quickly, then Dharmakranti (Revolution based on Dharma) is not far off ! – Editor SP)

Then when other devout Hindus also called Mr. Patil, he told all of them that he will stop this advertisement and has also informed his top officials about this issue. He also said, “I have got hundreds of calls regarding this issue, so now please stop your campaign.”
