HJS' Protest against M F Husain Campaign

Jaipur (Rajasthan): A painting titled ‘White Bull’ by anti-Hindu painter M F Husain has been kept on display at Goa Museum. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has submitted a representation, in lawful manner, to the Director of the Museum with a demand to remove that picture. D. N. A., English daily has published news in its Jaipur edition about the threat of HJS intensifying its campaign in case the painting is not removed.

The newspaper has also published reactions of few eminent personalities on the issue. Some of the views expressed by them supporting the campaign were ‘Husain should be hanged to death’, ‘He should understand people’s feelings’, ‘Art should be respected’, ‘No art can disrespect any God’, ‘How can one show God in nude?’ and reaction opposing the campaign was like ‘More important issues should be taken up’.
