Raju Nayak, the editor of ‘Dainik Lokmat’, who is possessed by Hindu-hatred, says, “Devout Hindus should be killed with weapons !”
Panaji (Goa): “Blind faith and superstitions have become rampant in the State. The organizations who are taking out rallies against me and Subodh Kerkar have lured the women on their side. These organizations have, in fact, crossed all the limits. The progressive people should not, therefore, keep quiet but should start a strong drive against these organizations. If required, those, who claim to bring the divine kingdom, should be killed with weapons.” The above explosive views were expressed by Raju Nayak, the editor of ‘Dainik Lokmat’. (Raju Nayak is afraid to even take the names of these organizations; how can then he build up a strong drive against them? How will Raju Nayak, who is talking about killing those, who are trying to bring divine kingdom, be able to bear such Divine Kingdom? – Editor SP)
He was speaking in a program that was organized to publish a book titled “Adbhut Gazali, kitale khare kitale phat” authored by Yadnyeshwar Nigalye of ‘Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti’. The program was held at Panaji in Konkani Academy’s Hall. The book has been published by Jain Publications. The program was also attended by Mr. Sandesh Prabhudesai, the editor of ‘Prudent India’, Mr. N. Shivdas, the President of Konkani Academy and Mr. Bhiku Naik of Jait Publications. Raju Nayak said further, “Yadnyeshwar NIgalye is a modern saint. (Modern saint is the one who criticizes Dharma, Deities and Saints as per Raju Nayak’s definition of a Saint! – Editor SP)Even at this age, he is trying to present his views before the society. Although the people have become educated, the roots of blind faith, superstitions are still there. (It is because the Congress Government adopted the Macaulay’s education system for the past 62 years creating only clerks. If ‘Dharma-shikshan’ had been imparted, people would have become not only educated but also cultured and righteous who would not have fallen prey to superstitions. The superstitions cannot be removed by just advising people ‘to do something’ and ‘not to do something’ but they need to be told what is right and what is wrong, how to follow ‘Dharma’! – Editor SP)
he further said, "The Government spends thousands of rupees on education of doctors; but doctors are also trying to spread superstitions. (This is because the doctors have realized the limitations of medical science. Does Raju Nayak consider himself wiser than these doctors? – Editor SP) Today, women are mainly dragged into the net of superstitions. In the rally taken out against ‘Dainik Lokmat’, there were more than 450 women. (When somebody says something against a person, he is termed as superstitious. It is hypocrisy to claim oneself more superior and knowledgeable than the women from all strata of the society! – Editor SP) The organization who is opposing us has built a ashram worth Rs. 7 crores. This ashram based on superstitions will collapse with one jolt. But all should come together. On one hand, our scientists claim that there is existence of water on the Moon but some of them still go to saints which is a very unfortunate thing." (Instead of trying to understand why the scientists and doctors who see everything in this world from the viewpoint of research and with analytical minds go to saints, Raju Nayak is criticizing them since he feels that he is more intelligent than them! – Editor SP)
Mr. N. Shivdas said, “Hindus and mainly the ‘Bahujan Samaj’ among Hindus fall prey to such superstitions. (Is Mr. Shivdas unable to observe such superstitions among Christians and Muslims?- Editor SP) The concept of God has been created out of fear. (God is not a concept as the world has been created by God and He is running this world too! – Editor SP) This concept should be there but it should not cross its limits. Right from the days of ‘Charvaka till Buddha’, fight is going on against such concepts.”
Mr. Sandesh Prabhudesai said on the occasion, “There is a subtle difference between faith and superstition. When ‘faith’ crosses limits, it becomes superstition. (When one undertakes spiritual practice having belief in spiritualism, one gets spiritual experiences [anubhutis]. As one gets anubhutis, the belief turns into faith and when the faith turns into ‘bhava’, there is existence of God. There is never any excess in faith. How these so called progressive and intellectuals do not understand that they should not talk on a subject in which they have no knowledge? – Editor SP) Such people find Lord Ganapati in the roots of a tree; but see mockery in a picture drawn by an artiste. Faith is a very delicate subject; therefore, we must talk about it with great care so that nobody’s feelings are hurt. (The subject of faith is trying to be learnt with intellect by the intellectuals ! – Editor SP) Otherwise, the opinion of the people can go against us. Divinity is in humanity. (God is everywhere. Divinity is definitely in humanity; but that does not mean that it is not in other things! – Editor SP) Today, at every corner of the road, there are Gods worshipped by followers of every religion. It creates obstacles in flow of traffic. We have brought our Gods on the roads from our homes.” (There is no difference between a God at home and outside. Anti-Hindu Dr.Kerkar's pictures at International Exhibition

Panaji (Goa): Goan artist Dr Subodh Kerkar will rub shoulders with internationally famed painters during the Indian Institute, Munich's art exhibition in Munich organised to celebrate its 80th anniversary.
The exhibition titled ‘The Art of India - 20 years of Contemporary Art’ will be organized in Gallery Neumeister, Munich on the 9th September 2009.
Subodh Kerkar’s works titled ‘The moon and the tides’, ‘The oceanic ritual’ and a bronze sculpture titled ‘The fisherman and the moon’ will be included in the show along with works by Achuthan Kudallur, Akhilesh, Amitava Das, Arpana Caur, Baiju Parthan, Bose Krishnamachari, Chittrovanu Mazumdar, F N Souza, Ganesh Haloi, H A Gade, Harsha Vardhana S., Hem Raj, Iranna G R, Jehangir Jani Manish Pushkale, Mona Rai, Pamela Singh, Prabhakar Kolte, Prabuddha Dasgupta, Ravikumar Kashi, Riyas Komu, S G Vasudev, Sunil Padwal, Surekha, T V Santhosh, Vibha Galhotra, Vivan Sundaram, and Yogesh Rawal.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Herbert Kroll, President, Indian Institute and Anup Kumar Mugdal, Consul General of India in Munich.
Ernst W Koelnsperger will deliver a talk on Indian Contemporary Art.
The exhibition will continue till the 18th September 2009.

On the front page of the English weekly, ‘Goan Observer’ in its issue ‘22nd to 28th August’, a photograph of Mr. Jayesh Thali, the spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been tampered with to portray him as a Taliban.
(Why does a staunch Hindu have to be associated with the despicable anti- Dharma Talabanis ? Why show a Hindu working for the noble cause of re-establishing Righteousness in society as per the Hindu Dharmic shastras in the garb of a Talabani ? Wouldn’t traditional attire aptly match the purpose of his mission?)
HJS has sought legal advice in the matter.

Bravo! We are proud of Jayesh Thali! Finally, an Organisation for Dharmabhimaani Hindus, by Dharmabhimaani Hindus and of Dharmabhimaani Hindus!
How can a Staunch Hindu activist be depicted in Muslim Clothes ? Irony or Paradox ? Even Hindu Fundamentalism is different from Islamic Fundamentalism.
HJS has done nothing legally wrong. To protest, demonstrate peacefully is a democratic right. It is a legal right of an individual to register a police complaint if his Religious Sentiments are hurt by any public depictions such as exhibitions! Neither has HJS rioted nor has it caused destruction of public property. On the contrary, your newspaper's editors can be legally sued for tarnishing the image of HJS by resorting to personal abuses, the way you have represented Mr. Jayesh Thali as a Talibani.
Even CM of Goa can be sued for protecting a criminal and I am sure HJS will fight it out legally. By the way HJS has never denied that it is a right-wing Hindu Group. It would have been better if you had represented him as a Hindu in Saffron clothes, in Hindu Traditional attire rather than in a Muslim attire! I know HJS very well, if they ever cared about personal status, they would have never even bothered to form an organisation like that. I am confident they will triumph in this struggle, as they always have, because they are on the path of truth.

So please appologise on this issue immediately or face the consequences !!!! As Hindus we are polite & give respect to other Religions also..& in return we expect the same !!
But it dosent mean that anyone should show our religion & its followers as `TALIBANIS`. Sir if you are staying in India it dosent mean that you will act as "TERMITES"(it feeds himself by eating its own house only) ...You should show respect to the Religion around you & its belivers. Do not see Mr. Jayesh Thali as an individual ..He is representing us, our religion & Hindu followers.By insulting him ..you are insulting us !!!

Panaji (Goa): As per the Indian Constitution, it is a grave offence to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments; yet Dr. Subodh Kerkar’s exhibition consisting of denigrating paintings of Lord Ganesha was held at the Kerkar Art Complex, Calangute on the 20th and 21st August. It has been revealed that the Congress government of Goa had extended full support to hold this exhibition. It has also been revealed that Congress CM Shri. Digambar Kamat assured Dr. Kerkar that police protection shall be provided to hold the exhibition. Thus, the HJS has demanded resignation of the Chief Minister. This information was given by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a press conference held today at Panaji. Shri. Jayesh Thali of the HJS, Shri. Sadashiv Dhond of the DharmaShakti Sena, Kum. Madhura Bhosale of Sanatan Sanstha, renowned artist Shri. Sanjay Harmalkar and social worker Shri. Chandrakant (Bhai) Pandit were present at this press meet.

The HJS filed a police complaint against Dr. Kerkar on 14th August. The police forwarded the case to the Director of Prosecution to ascertain as to under which Section can legal action be initiated against Dr. Kerkar. The irony is that the judgement of the Director of Prosecution has not yet been made public although the duration of Dr. Kerkar’s exhibition is over. With whose permission did Dr. Kerkar hold his exhibition when the judgement was awaited? What action will be taken against the official who granted this permission? The police who served Dr. Kerkar with a notice under Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code 3 days before the exhibition provided armed protection for holding the exhibition and made an attempt to foil HJS’ constitutional agitation!
A day before the exhibition, the police ordered the HJS not to conduct demonstrations outside the exhibition venue through a notice under Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Likewise, on the day of the exhibition, at 2.30 pm, the Panaji police served Shri. Jayesh Thali of the HJS a notice under the above section to be present at the police station, failing which, he was warned of legal action under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code. Shri Jayesh Thali who appeared at the police station accordingly was kept waiting for 3 hours during which not even a single police official paid heed to him. On the contrary, the state administration banned the screening of the movie ‘The Da Vinci Code’ in July 2006 as it would hurt the religious sentiments of Christians! Likewise, the cartoon of Prophet Mohammed drawn by an artist in Denmark was publicly condemned by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
This clarifies the anti-Hindu stance of the Congress government. This is an attempt to appease minorities and trample upon the majority. This will lead to a rise in incidents of denigration of deities for which the Congress government shall be solely responsible. The ‘Kabrastan’ issue of Margao creates a stir at Delhi, the center; but the Congress government does not have any concern about the 29 incidents of desecration of idols of Hindu deities in Goa!

Sree Ganesha Devotees! The Hindu representatives elected by you, who are not taking any action against this anti-Hindu Dr. Kerkar for drawing a nude Ganapati during the Ganesha Festival, should therefore, be taken to task wherever you meet them and see to it that they are never elected again ! No political party takes action against the enemies of Dharma, therefore, one need not be surprised if these Hindus turn to naxalism in future !Panaji (Goa): Anti-Hindu painter Dr. Subodh Kerkar today stated that his art exhibition was being held only because he received a phone call from Digambar Kamat, the Chief Minister of Goa assuring him that total protection would be provided for holding such an exhibition. In his interview given to 'Aaj Tak' news channel, he further said, "Despite the CM's assurance, the police refused to provide protection for 11 days. They agreed to provide security only for 2 days in view of the Ganesha Festival. Therefore, we agreed."
Regarding the concept used in his art, he said, "Saints like Tukaram, Namdeo etc. used to treat God like their friend. They used to even fight with Him. I have also drawn these pictures with a lot of faith. (Dr. Kerkar is comparing his denigrating pictures with Saints like Tukaram and Namdeo. Does he even know the meaning of the word 'Saint'? - Editor) I have drawn these pictures to portray Sree Ganesha as a cosmopolitan ambassador."(Can one begin to fathom how showing Sree Ganesha nude can portray him as a cosmopolitan envoy ? We condemn Dr. Kerkar for hurting our religious sentiments time and again, by making such infuriating statements. Dr. Kerkar needs to atone for this sin - Editor SP)
Dr. Kerkar further said, "I have tried to envisage how Sree Ganesha would live in countries like Egypt and Japan and have drawn these pictures. (Is Sree Ganesha a tourist to visit countries like Japan and Egypt? Sree Ganesha is a Divine principle that is active in the whole world. Take Dr. Kerkar to task for personifying Sree Ganesha, for this anti-Hindu activity ! – Editor SP) I did not want to hurt the anybody’s feelings. (If that was so, Dr. Kerkar would have rendered an apology to all Hindus. He would not have continued to be so brazenly audacious! - Editor SP) It depends on one's perception on how to view these pictures. "(In the perspective of the law, drawing such pictures that hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus is considered an offence. From a Dharmic viewpoint, this act directly opposes Dharma. Dr. Kerkar's insidious art is being viewed in the light of the anti Dharmic impact it has on the psyche of the people! - Editor SP)
Anti-Hindu Dr. Kerkar thinks like a tribal in a refined society !
"In tribal communities, Sree Ganesha is shown dancing or having sex like a human being as it is their culture. (Why then does Dr. Kerkar not live with the tribals ? - Editor SP) Hindu Dharma is expansive and nobody has under a special contract to protect it. (Hindu Dharma is all encompassing but that does not mean that anyone can hurt the sentiments of Hindus and Hindus are expected to accept it and not say a word ! - Editor SP)
Everyone has the right to live as one wants. (It is due to the expansiveness of Hindu Dharma that Dr. Kerkar has acquired this right. The followers of other religions do not have this right. But enemies of Dharma like Dr. Kerkar misuse such a right. It happens because Hindus have no respect towards their Dharma. - Editor SP) Why should one decide that someone is right and someone is wrong ?” asked Dr. Kerkar. (Those defying existing laws would be proved criminal by the Courts functioning as per those existing laws; similarly, those who do not abide by Dharma-shastra ( Laws of Righteousness) would be termed as 'Dharma-drohis' ( Enemies of Righteousness) according to Dharma! - Editor SP)
It was published in a Marathi daily newspaper 'Maharashtra Times' that Panaji Police had issued a notice to Dr. Kerkar to cancel the exhibition as his drawings had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. A legal opinion was also sought by the police from the Law Department on the issue which has not yet been received. Even then, Dr. Kerkar has been provided security by the CM which has infuriated Hindus. (The CM, Digambar Kamat is backing anti-Hindus and taking action against those Hindus who are protesting in a democratic manner. His action is undemocratic; therefore, Hindus must use their democratic right to ask for an explanation from the CM! - Editor SP)

Mapusa (Goa): Copies of Dainik Lokmat's Goa edition were set on fire by devout Hindus for publishing denigrated pictures of Lord Ganesha drawn by anti-Hindu painter (mia) Dr. Subodh Kerkar and for publishing only one-sided news of the whole incident. Devout Hindu women present on the occasion expressed their outrage by hurling their footwear at an effigy of anti-Hindu Dr. Kerkar .

Duration of exhibition cut down from 11 days to 2 days
Calangute (Goa): Despite opposition and police complaints at various police stations in the State, the exhibition of denigrating pictures of Lord Ganesha drawn by anti-Hindu painter (mia) Dr. Kerkar was held at Kerkar Complex in Calangute disregarding the religious sentiments of Hindus. Moreover, Dr. Kerkar was provided armed police protection even though police had issued a notice to him under clause 149 of the Criminal Porcedure Code (CrPC) just 3 days back.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), that has been opposing the exhibition as it involves pictures making mockery of Lord Ganesha, staged peaceful demonstrations along with other devout Hindus and pro-Hindu organizations at the venue of the exhibition. They demanded to close down the said exhibition immediately and action against anti-Hindu painter Dr. Kerkar. (The Government does not understand the demands made through peaceful demonstrations; therefore, the Government did not take note of so many such demonstations staged lawfully and peacefully. Such attitude of the Government is forcing Hindus to take law in their hands! – Editor SP) Today, the demonstrations were started from Sree Shantadurga Temple at 6.30 p.m.

The Goa Police, who provided armed security to anti-Hindu painter Dr. Subodh Kerkar, tried their best to stall the efforts of carrying out even lawful demonstrations against the exhibition. (Is it democracy or dictatorship? – Editor SP) Panaji Police served notice under the clause 149 of CrPC to Mr. Namdeo Naik of Shiv Sena at 11.00 p.m. and to Mr. Jayesh Thali of HJS at 2.30 p.m. ordering them not to participate in the demonstrations against the exhibition, not to motivate others to take part in the demonstrations and not to participate in any thing that can lead to a cognizable offence. It was also mentioned in the notice issued by Mr. Sandesh Chodankar, the Police Inspector that the duo should report to Panaji Police Station at 4.00 p.m. (the time of starting demonstrations) and if they do not report, action will be taken against them under clause 174 of the Indian Penal Code.

Mr. Jayesh Thali of HJS and Mr. Namdeo Naik of Shiv Sena accordingly reported to the police station at 3.45 p.m. but till 7.00 p.m. none of the police staff even acknowledged their presence. Mr. Chodankar who had issued the notice was also absent. (Tughalaki management of Goa Police ! It was a glimpse of insulting trteatment meted out to Hindus during Mughal regime now given by Goa police ! How long are Hindus going to tolerate such insulting treatment ? – Editor SP) Nobody from the police station was ready to even answer their queries like the reason for calling them to the police station and the whereabouts of Mr. Chodankar. When another police inspector was asked about the same, he showed his ignorance in the matter. Later, Mr. Thali and Mr. Naik called up the Superintendent’s office but he too was not available. (Hindus! Just think that the police who had called devout Hindus to the police station, had no time for them; how then they must be treating common citizens. The police that ill-treat devout Hindus and help heretics are fit for the wrath of Lord Ganesha ! – Editor SP) While issuing the notice, Mr. Jayesh Thali was mentioned as from Hindu Rakshan Samiti.

Dr. Kerkar's controversial pictures removed from Lord Ganesh exhibition

Panaji (Goa): In the art gallery at the freedom-fighters’ office, an exhibition of pictures of Sree Ganesha has been held since 16th August on the occasion of Sree Ganesha Chaturthi. It was decided by the organizers of the exhibition to omit the pictures by Dr. Subodh Kerkar who has become ill-famous for his controversial drawings of Lord Ganesha. The exhibition has been organized by painter, Mr. Samir Vernekar. (Congratulations to Mr. Samir Vernekar and management of the art gallery for deciding to omit the pictures of anti-Hindu Dr. Kerkar ! If nobody offers to include his paintings in such exhibitions, no artist would dare to draw such pictures and cause damage to Dharma! – Editor SP)
It has been understood that Dr. Kerkar had sent two of his drawings costing Rs.15,000/- each for inclusion in the exhibition; but as Dr. Kerkar has become quite controversial, his drawings were not included. The said drawings have been rturned to Dr. Kerkar. On the occasion of Sree Ganesha Chaturthi, Dr. Kerkar had planned to organize an exhibition of his paintings showing Lord Ganesha in a very disgraceful manner. The news about his denigrating art work was published in ‘Sanatan Prabhat’. After which Hindu Janajagruti Samiti undertook a drive against this anti-Hindu act of Dr. Kerkar.

Congratulations to devout Hindus from Goa for asking for an explanation from anti-Hindu (Mia) Dr. Kerkar and Dainik Lokmat
Panaji (Goa): Many devout Hindus called up and asked for an explanation from anti-Hindu Dr. Subodh Kerkar as to why he chose to draw denigrating caricatures of Lord Ganesha and so also to Mr. Raju Nayak, the editor of ‘Dainik Lokmat’ a daily Marathi newspaper for giving undue publicity to these caricatures and hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Despite such protests, Dr. Kerkar has decided to go ahead and hold an exhibition of his drawings in his art gallery at Calangute during Ganesha festival.
Dr. Kerkar and Nayak lodge a complaint with the Police : Allege receiving a death threat
Dr. Kerkar, creator of caricatures denigrating Lord Ganesha and editor Raju Nayak of ‘Dainik Lokmat’ who has given unwarranted publicity to such pictures have lodged complaints at Calangute and Panaji Police Stations that they have received death threats. Dr. Kerkar has said in his complaint lodged at Calangute Police Station that he received a death-threat through a call received by him from Pune whereas Raju Nayak has complained against Dr. Vijay Nadkarni from Madgaon for threatening him over phone. His complaint has been lodged with the Director General of Police.

In his complaint referring to ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’, Mr. Nayak has said, “DSP has published the contact number of his office and made an appeal to its readers to ask for an explanation from ‘Dainik Lokmat’ and therefore, many people called him up from the States of Goa and Maharashtra.
Lawful fight of HJS against denigration of Deities
HJS has always fought against the attacks on Hindu Dharma in a lawful manner. It has lodged a complaint with the Calangute Police Station against Dr. Kerkar for making a mockery of Lord Ganesha through his drawings, under Section 295 (A) and it will try to get justice following the path of law. Although Dr. Kerkar has lodged a complaint for receiving threats, it has no connection with HJS. If HJS wanted to use the method of repression, it would not have lodged a complaint against Dr. Kerkar. The above views were expressed by Mr. Jayesh Thali, the State coordinator of HJS for Goa in a press conference.

Anti-Hindu Dr. Subodh Kerkar has said that he was ready to discuss the matter regarding his drawings of Lord Ganesha with those who oppose the drawings. Dr.Kerkar Issue: Notices issued to HJS & Daily Sanatan Prabhat

Ponda (Goa): HJS has undertaken a campaign against anti-Hindu Dr. Subodh Kerkar for denigrating Lord Ganesha by drawing His caricatures in a very disgraceful manner. HJS has also decided to stage demonstrations, in a peaceful manner, at the venue of the exhibition where these pictures will be on display. Today, Calangute Police have issued a notice to HJS under clause 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The police have also issued a notice to DSP for publishing the contact number of Dr. Kerkar to voice one’s protest against him. It has been mentioned in the said notice that Dr. Kerkar has lodged a complaint against DSP. Dr. Kerkar states in his complaint that the DSP has published fanatical news about him and has inflamed religious sentiments of the people against him. Further, his contact numbers and other means of communication with him have been published in the newspaper. Such things should be stopped so as to maintain law and order. (The Police are thus trying to control the freedom of the press. DSP has not published any contact numbers for registering protest but have published some numbers, which were contacted by devout Hindus and reported as a part of the news. Why are the police objecting to publishing of news? Anti-Hindu Dr. Kerkar has the freedom to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus whereas DSP has no freedom to publish his contact numbers. The problem of law and order has arisen due to the denigrating pictures drawn by Dr. Kerkar for which DSP cannot be held responsible in any way. Panaji(Goa): A leading English newspaper The Dawn published from Pakistan has given a lot of prominence on its website by to the campaign undertaken against the paintings drawn by anti-Hindu painter Dr. Subodh Kerkar which make mockery of Lord Ganesha. Sanatan Sanstha has been referred to as an extremist organization on this website. (This is an indication that Pak media hate pro-Hindu Organisations. Editor SP)
AFP news agency has printed this news published by The Dawn. An interview by Dr. Kerkar has also been published in the news on the website. Dr. Kerkar has said in his interview that he was receiving threats over phone that his fingers would be cut for drawing such (denigrating) pictures of Lord Ganesha. He has said further that when extremist organizations like Sanatan Sanstha and other associated organizations made an appeal to protest against his drawings, he started getting such threats. (The news about Dr. Kerkars Dharma-droha was published in Dainik Sanatan Prabhat. Sanatan Sanstha and Dainik Sanatan Sanstha are in no way connected; but Dr. Kerkar is still maligning the name of Sanatan Sanstha by calling it extremist. Editor SP)
Dr. Kerkar has given human forms to Lord Ganehsa which are in different disrespectful poses. Dr. Kerkar has also said that he is a devotee of Lord Ganesha. (Dr. Kerkar, who has ridiculed Hindu Deities under the guise of art, is a Dharmadrohi ! Police bow to pressure, ask Kerkar to stop show

If it is found to hurt religious sentiments, we will initiate legal action against him,” he said. HJS had petitioned the police last week alleging that Kerkar had published “drawings of Lord Ganesh in various positions”, thereby insulting religious beliefs. It also wanted that the artists exhibition of Ganesha drawings be stopped. Earlier this month, HJS had demanded that the Goa State Museum remove M F Husains Standing Buddha from its gallery. Officials said the matter would be taken up with higher authorities.
Even as the Calangute police issued notice to Kerkar under section 149 CrPC (police powers to prevent cognizable offence), the artist said he would go ahead with his exhibition. He also sought police protection apprehending that some organisations might try to disrupt his show scheduled from August 20 to 31, 2009 at the Kerkar Art Gallery in Calangute. Kerkar also alleged that on Monday he received calls from unknown persons, abusing him and threatening to murder him.
On receiving his complaint, the police have registered an offence under section 507 IPC (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) against unknown persons. “There is absolutely no intention of hurting anybodys religious feelings. My drawings are my offerings to Shri Ganapati and no kind of insult is intended,” he said. “If some peoples feelings have been hurt by these drawings, it only shows their narrow-mindedness and fanaticism.
May Lord Ganesh help them clear their minds,” he said. “You (police) are most welcome to my gallery any time to view my drawings and judge for yourself,” Kerkar said in his reply to the police.

HJS demands administration to initiate strict action against artist Dr. Subodh Kerkar!

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has filed police complaints against Dr. Kerkars anti-Hindu acts with the Calangute, Mapusa and Porvorim police stations. Also, it has furnished a memorandum in this regard to DySP Bosco George. Sree Samartha Ramdas Seva Bhakti Mandal of Teen Maad, Sadye, Siolim have file a complaint with the Calangute Police Station. Copies thereof have also been given to the DySP and Dy. Collector of Mapusa. The administration should take notice of all these complaints and stop the exhibition from being held on 20th August 2009, so also initiate strict action against Dr. Subodh Kerkar. If the administration does not intervene immediately and take necessary action, then it shall be solely responsible for the repercussions thereof. Also, the HJS is going to hold demonstrations at the venue of the exhibition by constitutional means on 20th August. If any untoward incidents occur during this time, the administration shall be responsible for the same.

Miraj (maharashtra): Dasbodh Prasarak Mandal (DPM) has condemned Dr. Kerkar for publishing his drawing which ridicules Samartha Ramdas Swami. DPM is going to hold a meeting in this connection and write a letter to Dr. Kerkar seeking an explanation.

O Hindus, compare above two pictures - one drawn by Dr. Kerkar & another good picture drawn by an unknown artist. Ramdas Swami was one of the greatest saints of the world. He was the spirit of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was a great devotee of Hanuman and Lord Rama. He had Darshan of Lord Rama even when he was a boy. Lord Rama Himself initiated him. But Dr. Subodh Kerkar has intentionally drawn a caricature wearing a coat. So how we Hindus can tolerate such denigration of Samartha Ramdas Swami? Protest against Dr. Kerkar and force him to apologise to Hindus for making such denigration of Samartha Ramdas Swami.

Detailed News of Denigration of Samartha Ramdas Swami
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has made an appeal to remove a painting by anti-Hindu painter M F Husain which is being displayed at the Goa Museum. This is because Husain has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus by drawing nude pictures of Hindu deities. HJS therefore, opposes the display of any of Husains paintings. A representation has also been submitted by HJS to the Director of the Museum in this regard.
In a world where it is fashionable to pander after those who publically denigrate God, would it be considered reasonable to stand up to such a person or would it be would it be deemed excessive to do so? The unfair label of Hindu extremists has been attached to HJS in the above mentioned caricature because of this appeal.
Complaint lodged by Sree Samartha Ramdas Seva Bhakti Mandal
A complaint has been lodged with Calangute Police station by Mr. Devendra Chodankar, the President of Sree Samartha Ramdas Seva Bhakti Mandal (SSRSBM) located at Teen Maad, Sadye, Shivoli. Copies of the complaint have also been forwarded to the Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Deputy District Collector, Mapsua. It has been stated in the complaint lodged by SSRSBM that the said caricature has hurt the religious sentiments of all Samartha devotees. SSRSBM, Samartha Math was founded at Kucheli 25 years ago.
The Ramdas Sampradaya has been following the path of devotion for the past 350 years but today, with an easy stroke of a brush of a painter, the great tradition carried on with so much of devotion for so many years has been trampled upon in no time. Therefore, action should be taken against Dr. Kerkar for drawing such a caricature ridiculing Ramdas Swami. Action should also be taken against 'Dainik Lokmat' for publishing the same and hurting the religious sentiments of thousands of Hindus.

Detailed News of Denigration of Lord Ganesha
Panaji (Goa): An exhibition has been organised by Dr. Subodh Kerkar at Kerkar Art Complex, Calangute on 20th August at 6.30 p.m. In this exhibition, a few highly imaginative forms of Sree Ganesha, drawn by Dr. Kerkar, will be on display. He had also made a 12 ft. long Ganapati picture on which he has pasted green grass. Around the grass, he has pasted plastic papers, chocolate wrappers, plastic bottles etc. to create awareness among people about their habit of throwing trash everywhere including temples.
An article had been published in Hello Goa a supplement of the Marathi newspaper Dainik Lokmat in its issue dated 11th August in which some of the drawings by Dr. Kerkar are also published. Among these pictures, there is a picture of Ganapati wearing a langot( a loin cloth), one wearing a dhoti, another is sitting on a rock in thinking mode, one sitting on a mouse (His vehicle) whereas in other pictures, Ganapati is shown nude. (It has become a practice among the so-called modern artistes to draw Hindu Deities in the nude. How long are Hindus going to tolerate such denigration under the name of freedom of expression? Will these same so-called artistes dare to denigrate objects of worship from other religions? Editor SP)
In his article, giving an explanation on the 12 ft. Ganesh picture, which tells people to conserve the environment, it has been mentioned, Let God also know how the earth is oppressed in his absence. In the beginning of the article, Dr. Kerkar says “It is because of the tolerant attitude of Hindus that we get to see such different representations of Hindu Deities.” (The attitude of Hindus to tolerate anything and everything is taken for granted to such an extent that they have now become impotent and insensitive and thus put up with any extent of mockery made of Deities in different forms, without even a whimper of protest. People like Dr. Kerkar take advantage of the situation. In fact, Dr. Kerkar has indicated that we cannot ridicule objects of worship from other religions. For how long are Hindus going to endure such double standards? Editor SP)
In his article, he says further, “It is observed that Ganapati is also tolerant like other Indians because by whatever name we call Him, He does not get angry, unlike His father. (Dr. Kerkar is belittling Deities by thinking of them in human terms. Are Deities like human beings that they would get angry? It is only due to the lack of Dharma-shikshan that Hindus think so meaninglessly. Hindus do not know that they do not have any right, even if they are highly educated in a worldly sense, to talk about something like Dharma of which they have next to no knowledge! Editor SP)
Dr. Kerkar said we call Him by strange names like :
1. Lambodar meaning the one with a big belly.
2. Vakratunda or the one with a twisted trunk.

However the Science behind these names are as follows:
1. Lambodar is a combination of two words viz. Lamb means big and udar meaning belly. Ganapati has knowledge stored in His belly on various subjects, therefore His name is Lambodar; Thus it is not a strange name as it has a meaning.
2. Vakraan tundayati iti Vakratundah means the one who punishes those walking on a twisted (crooked - vakra) path or talking in a crooked manner is Vakratunda; who straightens Tiryak and Visfutit means crooked Raja/Tama pre-dominent 360 frequencies into 180 Sattva pre-dominant frequencies that is Vakratunda [27 frequencies emanating from 27 nakshatras are divide into 4 parts (charan) and they go to the earth i.e. they become 27 x 4 = 108 frequencies as they reach the earth. The frequencies emanating from the Shesha are known as Hiranyagarbha frequencies. There are 360 frequencies as they reach the surface of the earth and are known as the 360 frequencies.(Therefore, Dr. Kerkar should know that the names of Ganapati are not strange but his paintings and his thoughts are! Dr. Kerkar continues his description of Lord Ganpati saying, But He accepts everything, accommodates all in His belly and blesses us by forgiving all our mistakes. (It was Ganapati who slayed Sindurasura. Will any Deity bless those who work against Dharma? Dr. Kerkar will go on tour carrying his new experimental series of paintings based on Sree Ganesha. He says, “I thought that I should depict Ganesha, who is my favourite Deity, in different forms and take Him on a world tour. (This means that Dr. Kerkar is now going to propagate a perverted version of Sree Ganesha all over the world! Editor SP)
Dainik Lokmat while describing such distorted pieces of art says that Dr. Kerkar has used different Puran-kathas and culture to draw the pictures.
The distortion of the revered Lord Ganpati as envisioned by Dr. Subodh Kerkar are as follows:
• sometimes Ganapati becomes a philosopher,
• sometimes an aide of Micheal Angelo or the Egyptian phoenix,
• sometimes Jesus Christ walking on water,
• in the form of a Japanese Sumo wrestler ,
• or a computer expert
• wearing a Loin cloth or sometimes shown in the nude
• or even such a Ganesha with a crown of flowers and leaves as in Sanjaov Fest celebrated in Goa, where He is depicted as being all set to jump in a well.

To say the least : your attitude was pretty arrogant, defiant and narrow-minded.
I was trying to make you aware of your mistake but were just not ready to listen, on top of that you are telling me how your wrong is right !
Please ask yourself : are you being a real Hindu by doing this?
Lord Ganesh himself will teach you your mistakes one day and that day onwards, nobody will be able to save you from his wrath !
Incase you don't know, every God has two forms one saviour and one destroyer. He will destroy all perverted people like you when your time comes !

Dear Dr. Kerkar,
This is with respect to the article which I read in Dainik Lokmat on 11th August 09. I appreciate that you have the social obligation to make India good, to create awareness among people for better living. But the medium you chose is very wrong. To create awareness you have used our God Lord Ganesh as a medium! Do you think this is good? Instead you should stand keeping all the waste on your body or you should make your family members stand there!
There is very respected position to God in our mind. We pray God with that divine respect. You have degree of Doctor (Dont know from which university) but you do not the basic knowledge of Hindu philosophy. The language your have used to describe Lord Ganesha is very insulting. We should create respect about our religion, country, and gods in the mind of next generation to see better Bharat. Do you think foolish activity like this will create that?
If you really want to create awareness make Idol of any Muslim or Christian Prophet and publish an article with your same experiment. I am sure you will not do this because you know the result! Somebody will come to you and give you punishment which will be much more than what “sin” you have committed!
I sincerely request you to study the Hindu philosophy and stop creating such paintings of Lord Ganesh or any other Deity. Society expects guidance from you so please try to guide them in proper direction.
Hope you will understand from this and will remove all the paintings which insult Lord Ganesh from the exhibition and also will not do your experiment on 20th August.
As per advice of my advocate “hurting the religious feeling of anybody” is crime as per Indian Pinal Code 295 (A). We as a team are seeking legal advice on this matter.
