Sale of plastic National Flags curbed in Goa due to HJS' efforts

Goa: The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has yet another feather in its cap with the success of its campaign to prevent insult to the National Flag through strict implementation of the ban on the sale of plastic National Flags in the State on the occasion of the Independence Day.

The HJS had appealed to the State administration for strict implementation of the ban on the sale of plastic National Flags this year. Also, the Environment Minister Mr. Alex Sequeira had assured, in the session of the Goa Legislative Assembly that the ban on the sale of plastic flags would be strictly abided by. Accordingly, this year the sale of such flags has been almost curbed. In the main cities of Goa like Panaji, Mapusa, Bhicholim, Ponda, Margoa, Curchorem, Canacona and also in the remote places  sale of plastic flags was not seen this year.
