Fanatic Muslim officials oppose re-immersion of Ganesh Idols

Mumbai: Every year, during Sree Ganesha festival, more than 25000 idols of Sree Ganesha are immersed in the lake near the famous temple of ‘Swayambhu Ganesha Temple in Borivali. The idols from Goregaon to Mira Road are brought here for immersion. During summer, as the water level of the lake goes down, one can see parts of Sree Ganesha idols made of Plaster of Paris (PoP) that are not dissolved in water. (Therefore, the idols should be made from clay instead of PoP so that such denigration of Sree Ganesha idols can be prevented. Sanatan Sanstha is trying to create awareness from the politicians to sculptors but the Congress Government is not taking any action in this regard and we condemn them for not preventing denigration of the deity happening in such manner! – Editor SP)

The management of the temple, therefore, re-immerses such remnants of idols in Gorai Creek. This is going on for the last 20 years. This year, however, Hindus from Vazira Ganesh Gramastha Mandal who had gone to Gorai to re-immerse the idols were opposed by Muslim officials of the Municipality and were fined Rs. 20,000 (Does this country belong to Hindus or Muslims? Is there not a single Hindu officer who could have stopped such fine? - Editor SP)

The remnants of the idols were loaded in a truck for carrying to the creek when Farhad Khan, area officer of Municipal Corporation and his colleagues, Firoz Khan, Dayanand Tambe and Manish Pande stopped the truck and did not let the remnants of idols to be taken for re-immersion; in addition, a fine of Rs.20,000 was also charged. (If Hindu officer would have stopped Muslims from undertaking some religious rites, what would they have done? But Hindus do not react in that manner and this has encouraged Muslims to be so impudent. Nobody should therefore, wonder if tomorrow, Hindus too follow the path of Muslims to subdue them! – Editor SP)

The above incident has enraged Ganesha devotees. (Just getting enraged does not really serve any purpose! – Editor SP) Every year, Vazira Ganeshotsava Mandal allows Ganesha-devotees to immerse the idols in the lake for free just to ease the pressure on Municipal Corporation as thousands of idols are immersed in Gorai creek. The Ganesha Mandal has issued a circular that due to such action taken by the Municipal Corporation, it would have to be considered whether to extend the facility of immersion in the lake. (Hindus must not deprive themselves of their right to immerse Sree Ganesha idols just for a few insolent Muslim municipal officers; but they should come together and teach these Muslim officials a lesson in lawful manner! – Editor SP)
