Dadoji Konddev Issue

Khed Shivapur (Maharashtra): More than 250 devout Hindus from Khedshivapur, the village settled by Dadoji Konddev, the ‘Guru’ of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and from about 20 villages from Shivaganga valley today blocked the Mumbai- Bangaluru national highway for half an hour to press their demand of restortion of the reference of Dadoji Konddev in the History text book. Devout Hindus came in vehicles and assembled on the highway at 10 o’clock in the morning. They were raising slogans of ‘Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji’ while blocking the road.

Later, the agitators submitted a memorandum to Shri. B S Khilari, Deputy Superintendent of police of Sasawad zone. Many devout Hindus including Shri. Dinakar Konde, former Zilha-Parishad member, Shri. Somnath Landge of Shiv Sena, Shri. Sunil Konde, Sarpanch of Khedshivapur, Shri. Ajit Pawar of Dadoji Konddev Pratishthan, Shri. Raj Yadav of Mard-Maratha Sena, Shri. Milind Ekbote of Samasta Hindu Aghadi and Shri. Vilas Gaikwad and Vishwajeet Chavan of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were present on the occasion.

Shri. Sunil Konde, Sarpanch of Khedshivapur said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not only our inspiration but we revere him like God. We will teach a lesson to those who dare to insult or malign him.” Shri. Ekbote said that succumbing to pressure by anti-Hindu organization, Sambhaji Brigade and Purushottam Khedekar, historical facts related to Maharaj have been changed. Chhatrapati Shivaraya did get guidance from Dadoji Konddev. Therefore, we oppose such distortion of history.”

Highlights

  • Shri. Sharad Upadhye, ‘Rashichakrakar’ and a devotee of Lord Datta met the agitators and extended his support.
