Christian leaders disagree views of Sree Shankaracharya

Christian leader Says, views are his personal!

Mumbai: An open conference was held at K. J. Somayya College of Christian missionaries and religious leaders of other Sects. While talking to the reporter of Dainik Sanatan Prabhat, Arch Bishop Flex Makoda representing Christian missionaries said, “Cardinal Jean Luis P. Torah and others do not agree with the views expressed by Shankaracharya. Those were his personal views.” (Cardinal Jean Luis P Torah was present when Shankaracharya expressed his views and Cardinal’s representative had said that he accepted the views expressed by Sree Shankaracharya but his other representative has now made the above mentioned statement. This is the double-standard behaviour of Christians! – Editor SP)

To develop cordial relations between Christians and Hindus in India, Christian religious head, Pope has sent his representative Cardinal Jean Luis P Torah from Vatican City. He held discussions with religious heads of Hindus like Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswati of Kanchi Kamkoti Peetha, Sri Sri Ravishankar etc. for the last two days in Mumbai. Shankaracharya had said yesterday that there should be no outside interference in religious matters of this country and we can amicably resolve the differences existing among various religions. He presented the synopsis of these discussions before the media.

Makado said further, “Yesterday Shankaracharya told the media about discussions and decisions taken in the conference during last 2 days; but they are not right. (How can he dare to say that Shankaracharya is wrong in a country where Hindus are supposed to be in majority? There is no alternative but to bring about revolutionary change in our way of thinking! – Editor SP)

In this conference, no discussions were held or decision taken on the issue of conversion. Views expressed by Shankaracharya were his personal views.” (Hindus must note that Shankaracharya is the representative of all Hindus. They must firmly tell Christians that his views can not be held as his personal! – Editor SP)

Arch Bishop Makoda had participated in discussions held during last 2 days and was sitting next to the representative of Pope during discussions held today.

Swami Chidananda Saraswati from Rhushikesh insists before the Christian missionaries, the need for being nationalists

Swami Chidananda Saraswati from Rhushikesh said, “We all can come together and discuss about creating harmony among followers of different religions only because Hindu Dharma and Hindu culture mainly followed in India is so expansive and tolerant. Our culture based on the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The whole world is a family)’ teaches us to respect other religious paths. Every religion and sect should respect each other. People following various religions live together in this country. There appears to be no need to make efforts from Vatican City to resolve the problems of Christians. Followers of all religions must worship even their motherland along with worship of God as it will enable everyone to live together in harmony.”

Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswati warns Cardinal of Vatican City !

Mumbai: In the next two months, members of an organization called ‘U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom’ will be visiting Gujarat and Orissa, the States of India. Committees and commissions of Christian missionaries come to India to plan their policies and goals. We do not like the interference of foreign countries in matters related to religion in this country. We will solve the differences among the different religions followed in this country with mutual understanding. India will not tolerate political interference in governance of this country and in the same manner, we will not like such interference in religious matters by foreign countries.

The above warning was given by Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswati of Kanchi Kamkoti Peeth to Cardinal Jean Luis who has come to India from Vatican City, Rome. A conference was held of Hindu Dharma-gurus with the Cardinal and chief Christian missionaries in India during last two days at Shanmukhananda Hall, Matunga. Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswati represented Hindu religious leaders in this conference.
