Naxalites threaten to blow away President’s residence

Chaitra Krushna Dwadashi

Amaravati (Maharashtra): A so-called naxalite outfit called ‘Warangal’ has threatened to blow away ‘Devisadan’, the residence of President Mrs. Pratibhatai Patil in Amaravati along with the offices of District Collector and Police Superintendent if their demands, viz. to stop forcing farmers from giving their lands for construction of an airport at Belora and to shift slaughter houses from the city, are not met within 15 days. The threatening has been received through a letter. The District Administration has taken a serious note of the letter and advised to exercise cautiousness (Naxalites are running amok all over the State and threatening for getting their demands fulfilled. But the cowardly Congress Government is not doing anything to solve the problem; is the Government likely to take action at least now as the issue is now related to the President – Editor)?

The District Administration has issued order to take over the land near Belora village for the use of airport. The President has taken personal interest in the expansion of this airport. There is an anxiousness expressed in the letter that if farmers do not get suitable price for their land, they will have be on the road and their cattle will have to be sent to slaughter house. Thousands of cattle are being taken to the city slaughter house from villages like Morshi, Paratwada, Varud etc. Rural Police Superintendent is, however, taking no action in this matter and therefore, the above threat has been given (What is the plan of Congress Government in this case – Editor? )
