Congress has no control over incidents involving damage to idols

Second incident within 5 days

Dicholi (Goa): Sree Taleshwar Dome near Technical College at Maye where puja is regularly performed, was damaged by heretics on 14th March in broad daylight. This is the first incident of idol damaging in Dicholi taluka. Such incidents have been taking place in other talukas like Sange, Kepe, Ponda and Tiswadi but it looks like that it is now spreading even in other talukas. After the recent incident of denigration of Sree Krushna Vadeshwar devasthanam on the day of 'Holi' festival, this incident has taken place. People from Maye and Dicholi have strongly protested the incident and demanded immediate action against the culprits. In this dome made up of marble, there were pictures of Sree Lakshmi and Lord Mahadeva. The attendants had cleaned up the dome in the morning. After sometime, the local residents noticed the damage caused to the dome and police were informed. A case has been registered under Sec. 295 of IPC against unknown persons. Shri. Nilesh Manerikar, a devout Hindu lodged a complaint with the police. Police have taken two persons into custody and investigations are going on.

The Temple Protection Committee should take a review of its achievements and further course of action; else, its formation will not serve any purpose just like the powerful Hindu Organizations and parties doing nothing for Hindus. Now, people do not expect just warnings but they want actions like call of 'Goa Bandh' and they want leaders who know about action required to be taken in such cases.
