Mumbai: BruhanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made an appeal to people on the occasion of ‘Holi’ festival that trees or branches of trees should not be cut without prior permission of BMC. BMC has informed that person found guilty of cutting trees/branches without proper permission, can be sentenced to imprisonment of 1 week – 1 year besides fine of Rs.1000 – 5000. Citizens can lodge their complaints in this connection to ‘Vrukhsa Pradhikaran’ Department of BMC by calling up the following numbers – 23759821, 23723578, 23725799 and 23742162.
