The staff of anti-Hindu  English daily ‘ Deccan Chronicle ‘beat up the delegation of Hindus!

Bhagyanagar (AP):  The English daily Deccan Chronicle from Andhra Pradesh in its issue dated 8 th March  2009 published a distorted picture of Sri Durgadevi painted by anti-Hindu painter M.F.Hussain, falling on World Woman’s Day. Reacting to this HJS called all Hindus to boycott such an anti-Hindu daily. In response to this representatives of many pro-Hindu organizations today went to the office of ‘Deccan Chronicle ‘. However the chief executive officer Venkatraman Reddy manhandled them beat them up and drove them out without listening to a word. During this he even manhandled a woman who was video recording the event. ( Through this ‘Deccan Chronicle’ has shown its goondaism . Can this news paper with such hooligan staff be ever able to procure justice for the society ? Will the womens’ organizations and commissions now protest against the official of ‘Deccan Chronicle’ who manhandled the woman? - Editor )

Two days back HJS’s Coordinator for Mumbai, Raigad and Thane districts Shri. Shivaji Vatlkar had phoned  the office of Deccan Chronicle for demanding the answer and asking for the apology but was answered arrogantly. ( Recently Deccan Chronicle had  publicly apologized to Muslims for hurting their religious sentiments. But it is not feeing so in case of Hindus in spite of printing distorted picture of Durgadevi. This is Hindus are not united. Hindus, to break this arrogance of anti-Hindus get united now only - Editor) Similarly several proud Hindus from our country and abroad have sent letters of protest to this anti-Hindu Daily on the HJS’s website.

The news of Deccan Chronicle printing distorted picture of Durgadevi painted by M.F.Hussain was published by ‘Daily Sanatan Prabhat’ and was also put on HJS’s website. Shri. Vatkar then immediately telephoned the editor of Deccan Chronicle Ms Jayanti to enquire about the matter but since she was not available he had a discussion with Shri. Natarajan from the editorial department. As per his advice Shri. Vatkar then sent protest letter to the daily and asked for its apology to all Hindus. Since there was no response from the daily in this regard, a repeat telephonic call was done. One of the staff from the editorial department then asked to send the matter for apology letter. Shri Vatkar then sent the matter and re enquired on the telephone when Shri Natarajan from the editorial department  used very rude language.and  said,’ We do not want to answer anybody, will not henceforth receive any phone calls from you and we are not bound to tender an apology.’ and then he kept the receiver down.

In connection with this incidence the agitation is being lodged against Deccan Chronicle by HJS in Bhagyanagar  in the form of signatures from the proud Hindus and submitting a resolution to the editor. HJS has called Hindus to boycott such anti Hindu dailies. In response to this representatives of many pro-Hindu organizations toady went to the office of ‘Deccan chronicle. However the chief executive officer manhandled them beat them up and drove them out without listening to a word. During this he even manhandled a woman delegate who was video recording the event. After this the officials called police and invited two representatives of the delegation for discussion at the office but the delegation members decided that none of them would enter the office and demanded that the Daily should first apologise in tomorrow’s issue. When police conveyed the demand of the delegation to the officials, they agreed to tender apology in tomorrow’s issue.

This refers to publishing M.F.Husain's paintings in your news paper and exhibiting on your website,  The picture is of Durgadevi showing tiger and black aura. Thus it is distorted and denigrating form Hindu Deity Durgamata. This has hurted religious sentiments of millions of Hindus and specificaly Hindu redears of your popular news paper.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is an NGO engaged in Nation building, educating people about Dharma & Dharmacharan, awakening & uniting Hindus.The objective of the Samiti is to create awareness about Hindu issues,  to educate about Hindu Dharma, to unite Hindus globally, to stop denigration of Hindu Dharma (Righteousness) and to protect the Nation. To fulfil this objective the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti has taken more than a hundred Dharmasabhas all over India.We have successfully organised various campaigns and activities to bring awareness and unite Hindus, for example campaign against anti-faith bill, campaign against denigration of deities and Hindu rituals, campaign against anti-Hindu painter M.F. Hussain, campaign to save temples from governmental clutches, campaign against distortion of Map of India, campaign against anti-national elements like “Hang terrorist Mohd. Afzal Campaign” and respecting the national flag.
 
Please note that Mr.M.F. Husain has drawn nude and obscene paintings of Hindu Deities and Bharatmata. Thus he has hurted religious and National sentiments of crores of Hindus and Indians. More than 1,250 police complaints have been lodged against him and lot of court cases are going on against him throughout India. He has been accused of outraging relious sentiments, promoting enemity between different religious groups, selling obscene material and disturbing National integrity, thereby committing offences under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. He has also been accused of committing offenses under section 2 of the prevention of Insults to National Honour Act on account of certain paintings of Hindu Deities and naked Bharatmata.

Further please note that Mubai Police Special branch is investigating the matter and appropriate action would be taken against M.F.Husain in due course. For further details of protests and successful campaigns (e.g.ABN Amro Bank's credit card,NGO Khushi's auction of 6 crore rupees painting,Tao Art Gallery etc.) against M.F.Husain , please visit website www.hindujagruti.org . At this stage if you exhibiting/publishing  M.F.Husain's paintings in your newspaper / website will tentamount to be glorifying an accused person by hurting our religious and National sentiments. Your action of inclusion M.F.Husain's paintings for your prestigious paper will adversly affect readership.

Further please note that nobody will dare to glorify Danish cartoonist who has denigrated Mohd.Paigamber by arranging his painting's exhibition/auction.

 Today I telephoned and spoke to Mr.Natrajan and conveyed our feelings and protest. He said that we should write to Ms Jayanti the editor. Thus we are sending this message and  trying to request in most legitimate way to withdraw the picture and send us uncoditional apology at the earliest.

Please acknowledge and confirm the action taken in this matter.

Sub: Protest agaist exhibiting/publishing of M.F. Husain's.paintings in Deccan chronicle.
 
It is disheartening to see that in your issue dated 08-03-2009 at there is a picture titled 'Essence of Indian Womanhood is Shakti'. In it, there is picture of a woman shown in a pant and 'T' Shirt with a black aura around her head on a tiger. The woman depicted in the picture is Goddess Durga wearing modern clothes. The Hindu Goddess whom we rever the most, being depicted in such a disgraceful manner, has really hurt my sentiments and the sentiments of Hindus all around the world. Hindu Goddesses wear saree and there is so much power in them, that the aura around the head is always yellow (depicting chaitanya eminating from them). What does Hussain mean by depicting Durga Devi in such a denigrating manner? Is it just to add to his list of anti-Hindu acts?

Hussain has from time to time shown his hatred toward Hindu deities and Hindus by his drawings which either depict Hindu Gods or Goddesses in the nude or by depicting Hindu National Heroes in a disgraceful manner. Still the media and the other men at the top, project him as a great artist and bestow him with awards and accolades in the name of ‘freedom of expression’. If this is ‘freedom of expression’, or in other words ‘modern art’, why doesn’t Hussain draw Prophet Mohammed or any of his family members in such a disgraceful manner? Or for that matter, why doesn’t he draw Jesus or other Christian Saints in this way? Why only Hindus are always being targetted?

On the whole it is shameful and ridiculous that Deccan Chronicle has printed such a picture. A newspaper is a media which should stand for the Truth always and not propogate derogatory matter in any way. I am sure that Deccan Chronicle would not have dared to print such denigratory matter or pictures pertaining to other religions. ‘WHY ONLY HINDU DEITIES ARE DENIGRATED,’ IS THE BIG QUESTION?

Mocking at Gods and Goddesses is a big sin and unless you repent and apologise, you will have to bear the brunt. I sincerely request you to make a public apology and make sure that this mockery of Hindu deities is not repeated. This is not a letter from a single Hindu, but it voices the sentiments and feelings of millions of Hindus worldwide. Do the needful at the earliest.

This appears that M.F. Husain still continues to denigrate Hindu deities with active help of your publications.

Another horrible denigration of Goddess by Deccan Chronicle Supplement 'Sunday Croniccle' :-

This is insult of our Hindu Dharma and Hindu Devi.  I protest your this anti dharma act and insult of Hindu dharma.  This has severly affected my religious sentiments.
 
By doing this your newspaper has hurt millions of Hindu at India and abroad.
 
I request you to publish your un-conditional apology to all Hindus for your said acts.
 
If you do not want to do so, then I will approach various Hindu Dharma Sansthas, all Hindus I can  and ask them to appeal all their Hindu contacts to boycott your publication, take legal actions for dharma insult and protest for this Anti- Hindu shamful act by your publications.

Mumbai: Deccan Chronicle unconditionally apologises for inadvertently hurting the sentiments of some of our readers who have pointed out that Rahman is another name for the Almighty and as such our headline was inappropriate. They do understand what the headline constituted, but point out that nevertheless it should not have been used.

Deccan Chronicle never has and never will attempt to hurt the sentiments of any caste, religion or community and we do regret the hurt caused to any of our readers however inadvertent it may have been.

The mischievous rogue painter M.F. Husain is back at what he does best Hindu hatred; through his denigration of Hindu Deities.

It is shameful of DC to approach him for a repeat of his nonsense for their newspaper on Women’s day in spite of knowing that he has hurt Hindu sentiments in the past by his obscene paintings of Hindu Deities. Or is DC so naive not to be aware of it?

Husain has been smarting from his forced exile and charges in Bharatiya courts and DC has provided him an excellent opportunity to get even.

It seems like there are more anti Hindu accomplices of his at DC!

If the caricature was against Islam the DC office would have been ransacked by now. So what gives you the audacity to presume that Hindus will take it lying down? As a proud Hindu I will not tolerate such nonsense from your newspaper and demand an immediate apology.
