‘Hindutvavadis’ demand ban on sale of crackers with pictures of Deities at Rourkela

Nation-wide drive of HJS against crackers

Rourkela : There are pictures of Hindu Deities like Shri. Lakshmi, Shrikrushna, ShriVishnu so also of revolutionaries like Subhashchandra Bose, Bhagat Singh etc. on covers of crackers causing their grave desecration. It also leads to law and order problem as people’s religious sentiments get hurt. Crackers cause lot of pollution and bursting of crackers worth billions of rupees also causes loss to national wealth. There are millions of people who do not get one proper meal in a day; then splurging money on crackers is against national interest; therefore, permanent ban should be imposed on such crackers which denigrate Deities and revolutionaries and cause pollution. A representation to the above effect was submitted to additional District Collector by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). It was accepted by Smt. Nibha Bhattacharjee, his personal Secretary in his absence. Shri. Nilkanth Mohanty, city-President of VHP, Bajarang Dal’s Shri. Ravi Prasad, Shri. Ashok Sasmal of RSS from Jagatsinghpur, Shri. Akhand Panda, President of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishada’, Adv. Vibhuti Bhushan Palei, Adv. Gangadhar Das, Adv. Karamchand Jena, Adv. Bulu Patnaik, Shri.
