A music concert, in which some Pakistani singers were performing, was disrupted by some Shiv Sena workers in Gurgaon on Saturday evening.

According to reports, some people who claimed to be Shiv Sena workers barged into the Municipal Corporation’s open theatre in the city, where an event in which some Pakistani singers were taking part, was being held and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans.

Protesting Sena workers removed the Pakistani flags and vandalised the stage while warning the organisers from going ahead with the event.

A police team rushed to the spot soon after the incident and is probing the matter. More details about the incident are awaited.

Earlier, this month Shiv Sena’s protest had forced the organisers to cancel famous Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s event in Mumbai and Pune.

In protest, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had invited the legendary Pakistani singer to perform in the national capital. Ali is scheduled to perform in New Delhi in December.

Sena, a junior partner of the BJP both in Maharashtra as well as the Centre, has been protesting against the participation of Pakistani citizens in Indian events.
