Miraj : Shiv Sainiks stop desecration of Ganesh idols during immersion

• Govt. should take action against those responsible for desecration of Shri. Ganesh idols
• Shiv Sena’s Anand Rajput exposes the futility of Municipal Corporation’s water-tanks !

Miraj (Maharashtra) : Sangli Municipal Corporation (SMC) has erected an artificial water tank near Kashi-Vishweshwar Mandir in Brahmanpuri for immersion of Ganesh idols. SMC collects all the Ganesh idols immersed in this water-tank and later re-immerses them in river. On 23rd September, at 12.00 midnight, workers of SMC climbed down in the water-tank for removing idols. These workers were standing on some idols while taking out other idols. Shiv Sena’s ‘Utsav-Samiti’ Chief Shri. Anand Rajput observed this; he immediately pointed it out to others and stopped the desecration. He then waited till end; till all idols were taken out in proper manner. Shri. Gajanan More and other Shiv sainiks were also present in large number, on the occasion. Detailed information in this regard is as follows

1. Workers of SMC take out immersed Ganesh idols from water-tank; load them on a tractor and re-immerse them in river. Every time, there is desecration of idols when they are taken out from tanks. This year too, same thing happened right in front of Shri. Anand Rajput. Initially, SMC workers tried to intimidate Shri. Rajput; but few workers ran away when Shri. Rajput said that he was a Shiv Sainik. (What action SMC is going to take against its workers for intimidating others ?  – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

2. The condition of idols taken out and kept in tractor was very bad. Other citizens also gathered in large number at that time; amongst them, the no. of women was noticeable. They were very angry when they saw the condition of idols. They too took SMC workers to task.

3. Shri. Rajput had appealed to SMC against keeping a water-tank for immersion; but SMC did not pay attention. This time also, SMC workers tried to call responsible officers of SMC but they avoided coming. Shri. Rajput warned that Shiv Sena would stage intense agitation if SMC continued such desecration as it could not tolerate desecration of idols of Deity revered with so much devotion by people.

4. Enraged devotees turned the tin water-tank upside down after all idols were taken out by SMC.

5. Devotees immerse idols with lot of devotion; but such idols are denigrated by SMC; therefore, the devotees should not immerse idols in water-tanks but should immerse only in river, was the appeal made by Shri. Anand Rajput.

6. Shri. Rajput said that soon action would be taken against the persons responsible for desecration.
