HJS demands to file cases of sedition against supporters of Yakub

To avoid such incidents and to prevent appeasement of anti-nationals in future, ban should be imposed on media, channels or public forum; to hold discussions on death sentence given to a criminal and confirmed by the President. A stringent law should be passed in this regard.

• Why the Government does not realize such things?

Bikaner (Rajasthan) : Terrorist Yakub Memon responsible for death of 257 innocent people was given death sentence after 22 years by following judicial procedure.

His petition for mercy was also turned down by the President. In such case, all those people who were supporting Yakub should be booked under sedition, was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through a petition that was submitted to the District Collector of Bikaner Smt. Poonamji.

Shri. Hari Om Garg, a senior journalist, Shri. Anand Jakhotia, Shri. Bhavani Shankar Parihar and Shri. Sanjay Arora of HJS were present on the occasion. A copy of signatures collected during demonstrations held for the above demand was also enclosed to the representation.

It has been stated in the petition that …..

1. MP Asaduddin Owaisi of MIM Party, Abu Azmi of Samajwadi Party and other leaders portrayed anti-national Yakub Memon as innocent; even after charges against him were proved and he was sentenced to death. They tried to provoke minority population misleading them that injustice was done in this case and showed distrust in judicial system of this country.

2. The so-called social reformists also added fuel to fire by publicly expressing their views against Yakub’s death sentence.

3. Publicly extending support to a criminal against whom offence of sedition was proved in Court, is alike participating in anti-national activity.

4. It can be dangerous for security of this country; therefore, action needs to be taken even against supporters of Yakub if terrorism is to be eradicated from this country.
