MP Sanjay Patil assures to give instructions for proper immersion of Ganesh idols

Sangli : Sentiments of devotees are important towards immersion of Ganesh idols; therefore, necessary instructions would be given to Municipal Commissioner and District Collector on immersion of Shri Ganesh idols, assured BJP- MP Shri. Sanjay Patil elected from Sangli district, to Shri. Dattatreya Retharekar and Shri. Kiran Pol of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) as they called on him.

Strange advice by District Collector, immersion in river is inappropriate !

District Collector Shri. Shekhar Gaiwad was handed over the petition by HJS. Responding negatively, he said, “Shri. Ganesh idols of PoP cause pollution; therefore, it is not proper to immerse them in river water. It is also not right to advise Municipal Corporation in this context. You should insist for idols made of clay.” He was told that many reports were available which said that Shri. Ganesh idols made of PoP did not cause pollution. On this, the District Collector asked HJS members to show such reports.

Tasgaon : HJS submitted similar petition to Tehsildar, Mayor and Chief Officer at Tasgaon in the presence of pro-Hindu activists viz. Shri. Abhijit Ghule, Shri. Rhushikesh Pethkar, Shri. Siddheshwar Lamb of Shri. Shiva-Pratishthan and Shri. Puran Malame, Shri. Vilas Pol and Shri. Jeevan Patil of HJS.
