Hindus should teach lesson to Anti-Hindu Congress and its so caled secular friends like Samajvadi Party & RJD who back terrorist organization like SIMI, but demands ban on Hindu organizations like Bajarang Dal!
New Delhi: Coming under intense pressure from segments of its constituency, Congress is all set to rally its friends at Monday's National Integration Council meeting to press for "decisive" action in Orissa and a ban on the Bajrang Dal.
The party, which was initially hesitant in advocating the extreme step, has now decided to use the forum of 100-odd members to mobilise support for direct central intervention in Orissa and disbanding the militant Sangh Parivar outfit.
The agenda for the meeting includes the issue of insecurity among minorities. Packaging it positively, the paper circulated to members proposes a discussion on "promotion of feeling of security" among the minority groups. Another item on the agenda is communal harmony. To be attended by Union ministers, chief ministers and leaders of political parties, the meeting is sure to see a sharp division between the BJP and its opponents.
Bracing for a showdown with the BJP and its NDA allies, Congress has already accused the Bajrang Dal of "abusing the Hindu faith and lumpenising the public space". Facing the ire of minority groups for the continuing attacks on Christians in Orissa, the party has shed much of its earlier ambivalence on the question of banning the Dal.
Earlier, Congress coated its wavering on the issue with prospects of the ban being quashed by the judiciary. Days before the NIC meet, however, the party is reconciled to an aggressive position on the ban question.
