HJS : Lecture on ‘Independence Day’ at Veersavarkar School, Chennai

Kolathur, Chennai : On 13.08.2015 at Veersavarkar school,  a lecture was arranged on the subject of the forth coming occasion of Independence day. HJS’ volunteer Sou. Suganthi Jaikumar presented the lecture for school students and teachers. She spoke about true independence, mental slavery to western culture, how to inculcate virtues to develop patriotism, respect to national flag.

At the end, a suggestion was given to keep a ‘Flag collecting box’ in the school and after the distribution on 14th it can be collected back when they come back on 17th. Around 250 children and 15 teachers attended the program.

Highlights

1. After seeing the 2 minute video, ‘Respect our Nation Flag’, Principal appreciated the selfless efforts of HJS Mission to increase patriotism and she assured to show it to the school children.

2. The principal also welcomed the suggestion of collecting flags and disposing them respectfully on 17th.

3. The Headmistress of the school, Smt. Rama, told that she was not aware that it was a mistake when we use flag as decoration. When it was explained to her she accepted the intensity of the denigration.
