Forts are inspiring and should be preserved as our legacy ! – Babasaheb Purandare

We should preserve the legacy of forts in such a way that the whole world would visit us for our forts – Babasaheb Purandare

Pune (Maharashtra) : Forts are witnesses of our prosperous history. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used these ‘Durg’ (forts) and established unconquerable Swarajya (Independence)’.

Sultan came with huge army with the intention of eradicating Hindavi Swarajya; but he was defeated with the help of these forts in the Sahyadri mountain range and ‘mawlas’.

These forts have inspired many people. Fort of Chakan created a revolutionary like Rajguru. It is necessary to preserve such forts; so do not make them dirty by throwing trash or writing on their walls. We should preserve the legacy of forts in such a way that the whole world would visit us for our forts.

The above views were expressed by ‘Shivashahir’ Babasaheb Purandare on 8th August while inaugurating an exhibition of photographs of forts held by Durga Foundation and its website.

Senior historian Dr. Pandurang Balkavade and architect Shri. Kailas Sontakke known for construction of ‘Shivapattan Kendra’ were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.

Dr. Pansurang Balkavade said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj brought ‘Su-rajya (good governance)’ through ‘Hindavi Swarajya’.

Respected Babasaheb Purandare has been striving to spread name of such revered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj all over the world and for converting ‘Swarajya’ in India into ‘Su-rajya’ by creating ideal citizens. He is inspiring thousands of youth.
