No Goddess's photographs on vests - Navratri committees

Ashwin Shuddha Panchami

Outcome of HJS enlightening

By Staff Reporter
Tulajapur (Maharashtra): On the first day of the Hindu month Ashwin, workers of various ‘Navaratrotsava’ committees from all over the State, carry a flame lighted from the temple of Sree Bhavani Devi. Members of many such committees visited the temple even this year as per the practice. Many members were wearing vests given by their respective Navaratrotsava committees that had a picture of Sree Durga Devi along with the name of that committee.

It was observed by S/Shri. Amit Kadam, Sarvottam Jevalikar and Umesh Kadam of HJS and they talked to the chief members of the variuoius committees and tried to make them understand how wearing such pictures amounted to desecration of the deity. (Congratulations to HJS members for educating members of the various committee for prevention of desecration!) After learning about the science, members of 25-30 committees promised not to print such picture on their vests in future.
