Nasik (Maharashtra) : It was observed that a so-called ‘guruji’ attired in T-shirt and jeans pant was performing ritual of ‘Pinda-daan’ at the river- ghaat.

Large number of devotees are coming to Nasik from all over the country on the occasion of Simhastha Parva for having holy bath in sacred River Godavari. Many priests/ gurujis are available at the ghaat to perform ‘Pinda-daan’ ritual.

It was observed that a so-called guruji, wearing T-shirt and jeans, was performing the ritual. He had neither worn ‘dhoti’ nor taken ‘uparna’. It is observed that such so-called ‘gurujis’ are taking advantage of people’s ignorance and cheating them, by charging around Rs. 500 – Rs. 1000 for such ritual.
