Police lock Ganesha Temple owing to dispute in 3 villages near Mahabaleshwar (Maharashtra)

• This is the effect of lack of Dharmashiksha amongst Hindus !

• Today, when there is dire need of Dharmaraksha (protection of Dharma), Hindus, fighting for ownership of a temple, are real enemies of Hindu Dharma !

Mahabaleshwar, Satara (Maharashtra) : Machutar, Shindola and Bhekavali are the 3 villages which have claimed right on Ganesha Temple, located on Medha Road. No decision could be reached in a meeting held between 3 villages and police have since locked the temple. Ganesha-devotees and tourists are finding it difficult to visit the temple.

1. The above temple is on the border of 3 villages and the land belongs to Forest Department. One person was given the responsibility of managing daily needs of the temple and payment to priest.

2. Tourists going to Mahabaleshwar started going to this temple and the money collected in donation box started increasing. On realizing this, local residents of Bhekavali took the donation box and deposited the money with their village. 3. Tehsildar Atul Mhetre had a meeting with Chiefs of all 3 villages to solve the temple-dispute; but all of them were giving different proposals and each village was opposing to the proposal given by the other villages. The meeting could not find solution to the dispute and police decided to lock the temple. Accordingly, after morning ‘puja’, the temple is being locked. 4. A complaint has also been lodged against residents of Bhekavali village for stealing donation box of temple; but no case has been filed against anyone as yet.
