Shiv Sena’s direct action; Protest letter from Pune Nagar Hindu Mahasabha

Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra) : ‘Aurangabad Akashvani’ had included ‘qawalis’ on the occasion of ‘Ramzan’ month, in a program of devotional songs called ‘Swaranjali’ broadcast in mornings by this radio station.

‘Dainik Saamnaa’ and ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ newspapers had published news about the issue after which many people besides Shiv Sena, Hindu Mahasabha etc. registered their protest leading to ‘Akashvani’ paying heed to their protests. 1. ‘Aurangabad Akashvani’ first included ‘’qawali’ in its program of devotional songs on 26th June and even broadcast ‘baang’ of ‘Allah-O-Akbar’.

2. News on the subject was published by ‘Dainik Saamnaa’ and ‘Sanatan Prabhat’.

3. Shri. Ambadas Danave, District President of Shiv Sena, along with a delegation, met Siddharth Meshram, Director of ‘Akashvani Kendra’ and took him to task. (Hindus, therefore, rely on Shiv Sena whenever any issue related to Dharma is to be addressed ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

4. Meshram accepted Akashvani’s mistake.

5. At the same time, many readers of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ also called up Akashvani Kendra and registered their protest.

6. Shri. Umakant Kendhe, the President of ‘Pune Nagar Hindu Mahasabha’ has sent a letter to officers of ‘Akashvani’ demanding to re-start ‘Swaranjali’ program by discontinuing program of qawali.
