Bangluru (Karnataka): Newly-established auction house Bid & Hammer will hold its second auction of modern and contemporary Indian art here on June 15, buoyed by the growing interest among Indians to invest in art.

The collection includes works by MF Husain, Jamini Roy and Francis Newton Souza. The estimates range from Rs 24,000 to Rs 50 lakh.

The Bangalore-based auction house’s services include authentication, provenance, restoration, valuation and conservation.

Bid & Hammer held its inaugural auction in January, selling 46% of its collection.

"There is a buoyant market for Indian art that needs to be tapped. We aim to develop the southern Indian market and will concentrate on auctions and previews in Bangalore to start with while continuing to serve our clients nationally and globally," chairman and MD Maher Dadha said.
