Mangaluru (Karnataka): Today the Hindu dharma is facing various types of assaults from all the sides like the ever-increasing incidence of conversion of Hindus, attacks on temples, vandalism of Deities’ idols etc.; the Hindu dharma is caught in an adversity with the rulers being criminally passive in taking stern action against the anti-Hindu elements in the country on the one hand and on the other, the Hindu community being inactive and oblivious of its own woes. Therefore if the Hindu dharma is to be survived, the Hindus should pay heed to the call of the time – to observe religious behaviour and to get united for the noble cause. In the city of Mangaluru which derives its name from Shri Mangala Devi, the ardent Hindus adopted this approach in the Hindu Janjagruti Sabha held here today in Nehru grounds and expressed their unflinching loyalty to the dharma.

Speeches of Dignitaries
The Hindus will be protected only when they are awakened! – Pujya Shri Shri Shri Vishveshateertha Shri Padangalavaru of Pejavar Math
Just as tree and leaf are dependent on each other, so also an individual and dharma should be. We have character only because of dharma; hence we ought to observe religious behaviour. We should spread religion. The fanatic terrorists and the proselytizers have increased their attacks on Hindu dharma today. The Hindus should forget the differences among themselves and get united. The Hindus will be protected in true sense only when they are awakened. The onus of protecting Hindu dharma from the onslaughts falls rightly on the Hindu youths and the followers of Sanatan Hindu dharma. Beware of anti-Bharat alliance of America and Pakistan! – Advocate S. Dore Raju
Terrorism is growing alarmingly in the country. When Pakistan’s intelligence organization ‘ISI’ was founded, America’s intelligence bureau ‘CIA’ provided all the necessary training to it. We should be aware of the anti-Bharat alliance of America and Pakistan. The terrorists in the country target only the Hindus. But the government is inactive to take any action against the terrorists. As Shri Mohan Gauda has rightly said, we Hindus should become fully trained and armed for protection of the nation. When our culture is being invaded, we must possess arms to protect it. The terrorists are roaming freely in the streets like a layman. The situation prevailing in the country is alarming and ironically our security machinery is in deep slumber. In such a critical time, Dharmashakti Sena has been established for protection of the Hindus.
Present security machinery is for protection of anti-religious elements, not for Hindus! – Mohan Gauda, Dharmashakti Sena
Today the security machinery in the country is there not for protection of the Hindus, but the anti-religious elements. The latest example in this regard is the inhuman cane attack by police superintendent Krushna Prakash and other policemen on Pujya Bhide Guruji of Shri Shiv Pratishthan who was peacefully opposing the anti-history film ‘Jodha-Akbar’ at Sangli. The Mumbai police had also launched a similar cruel attack on Jagadguru Swami Narendracharyaji Maharaj’s followers when they were peacefully protesting against the authorities for their refusal to give Him permission to carry Dharma Danda in the plane. Rationalists are dismantling dharma! – Shivanand Prabhu, HJS
Just as the terrorists, Naxalites etc. are trying to torn the nation to pieces, so also the so-called rationalists are trying to dismantle the dharma. They are saying, “Hold on to science only”; but see the disadvantages of science. Science gives gadgets of happiness, but not the happiness. It cannot give peace. It cannot give morality. It cannot develop virtues in man. This is so because science does not have philosophy of its own. Science is oblivious of all these things. Now-a-days any layman raises his voice and says, “We do not want old things like vows etc. Let us do something different.” In fact how can one say “throw these things in the garbage-bin” without first pondering over and understanding why these things are still surviving for hundreds of years and without getting first hand experience of the benefits of these things? The rationalists create doubts among the followers of their own religion. Personality defects make even a powerful man helpless! – Vinod Kamat, Sanatan Sanstha
We have been told to do many religious rites in our dharma; but most of us are not aware of the importance of the rites or actions, the science behind them and what benefits one accrues by following them. We all should at least study our dharma a little in order to take the new generation to religious behaviour and make them more cultured. For this we should take religious education. Every one of us wants happiness and satisfaction in life. We also want to do something more for protection of dharma. But due to our personality defects instead of getting happiness and satisfaction we have to face sorrows and miseries in life. So our thought of protection of dharma vanishes in thin air. A powerful person also becomes helpless!
