Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha held in Bangaluru (K'taka)

The Dhamajagruti Sabha held in Bangaluru on April 27. Let us see the characteristics of the city of Bangaluru. The city which is known as ‘Silicon City’ throughout the world in today’s modern age has a glorious history of 1000 years. Dynasties of great kings like Ganga, Chola, Hoyyasala, Vijaynagar empire etc. had ruled here. Shri. Kempe Gowda of 1537 is said to be the architect of the modern Bangaluru. In spite of rapid growth and urban atmosphere, it is called a ‘Garden City’ i.e. the city of gardens. The first electric supply in Bharat was received in Bangaluru. It was captured by the Maratha chief Shahaji Bhonsle, father of Shivaji, then working for the Adil Shahi sultans of Bijapur in 1638. During the siege of Bangalore, Shivaji's elder brother Shambaji was killed by Shahaji's rivals, led by the Ghorpade of Mudhol, for which Shivaji was to later exact revenge.

Bangaluru (Karnataka): In the present times, Hindu dharma is being assaulted from all the sides. Despite the various onslaughts on Hindu dharma like the Hindu community getting degenerated due to the masses blindly following the western culture, increasing incidence of anti-Hindu laws being passed by the leaders, fast pace of conversion of Hindus, destruction of Ram Setu, the black cloud of Jihadi terrorism lurking dangerously on Hindu community and its temples and vandalism of Deities’ idols, the Hindu community is abysmally passive and inert. Therefore Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organized at Bangaluru yesterday the ‘Hindu Dhamajagruti Sabha’ with the objectives of making the Hindus aware of the dreadful condition through which they would be unwittingly passing in future and preparing and unifying them for protection of dharma. The Sabha took place on the grounds of national college in Basavangudi area.

Present on the occasion were Shri Haranhalli Ramaswamy, president of ‘Lokshikshan Trust’ and the Kannada daily ‘Sanyukta Karnataka’; Shri. S. Dore Raju, renowned advocate and ex-public prosecutor of Karnataka government; Shri. Mohan Gauda of Dharmashakti Sena; Shri. Vinod Kamat of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Shivanand Prabhu, spokesperson of HJS for Karnataka state.

The Sabha which commenced with the sound of a conch was enveloped with the divine consciousness as a result of the recital of Vedic mantras by Vedmurti Shri Anvesh of Uttaradhamath Jayateertha Vidyapeeth, Shri. Aniruddha, Shri. Krushna, Shri. Sanjiv and Shri. Badarish. The lamp was lighted at the auspicious hands of Shri. Harnahalli Ramaswami. Shri Chandresh narrated the activities of HJS and compering was done by Mrs. Devaki and Mrs. Seema. The population of Bangaluru is 1 crore. The population of Basavangdi area of south Bangaluru is 4,50,000/-.

Speeches of Dignitaries

We are on the verge of a total extinction - Shivanand Prabhu, HJS

The pride for dhama is fast disappearing among the Hindus. Therefore the pride for nation has also ended. The main reason for the miserable condition of the Hindus is that they are not given religious education like in other religions. With no religious education there is also no scope for pride for dharma which in turn drives them away from religious behaviour. Non observance of religious behaviour further deprives them from getting spiritual experiences of God. Due to lack of pride for dharma, we have no urge to take any action for the sake of the dharma. As a natural corollary, the dharma i.e. God does not take care of us and we are on the verge of a total ruin and extinction.

Don’t stop religious rituals because somebody will laugh at us! – Vinod Kamat, Sanatan Sanstha

The word ‘Kamakand’ is unnecessarily used in a derogatory manner. The religious rituals are importance because there is a spiritual science behind every rite. There are experiments in science. Similarly, rituals are the experiments in spirituality. How to pay obeisance? Why only red flowers and Durvas are offered to Ganapati? Why only half circumambulation is done for Shiva Pindi?  There are reasons as per spiritual science behind every such acts. Like other faculties of education, the Hindus should also take and give religious education. Do not feel ashamed to join hands and pay obeisance by say ‘namaskar’, do no feel shy to apply sandalwood paste on your forehead when you go out of the house, pray to God before having meals. Offer the food to the worshipped Deity as a sacrament and then consume it as a ‘Prasad’. When we do such acts during journey, in a hotel or an office, do not have the mentality that the other Hindus would say ‘what an orthodox person he is’.  We should be rightfully proud that behind every act in our dharma there is the spiritual science.

Remember, we living in an insecure society today! – Mohan Gauda, Dharmashakti Sena

Today life has become very insecure. Rape takes place at every hour in the country. On an average, 37,170 murders are committed every year in Bharat. 20% region of the country is infested with Naxalites. Terrorism has killed 93000 persons in the country. Out of 543 members of parliament in the Lok Sabha, 500 MPs are involved in court cases for some offence or the other. Seventy two percent of the population is corrupt. Every field is riddled with corruption to such an extent that raising voice against it would be a cry in the wilderness. We can see some of the examples of the present condition of the Hindus here. Have we every thought what actually is the condition of the Hindus today? At the time of partition of Bharat, there were 10% Hindus in Pakistan, who have been reduced to below 1% today. The Hindus constituted 28% of the population in Bangaldesh. Today there are only 8% Hindus. The Hindus have been suffering untold miseries in the entire world.
