Four missionaries held in Yadagirigutta temple for proselytisation

Four people associated to various churches in and around Yadagirigutta were found distributing pamphlets propagating the religion.

Speaking to The Hindu , S. Rajashekar Reddy, Sub-Inspector of Police, Yadagirigutta, said that some temple staff have complained regarding the issue.

The four persons were identified as Kandula Ramesh, Sommanna, David and P. Ramesh.

The police recovered wall-posters and other propaganda material. They four accused were later released on bail.

Meanwhile, Temple Executive Officer N. Geetha said they would not allow propagation of other religions on the sacred hill shrine.

“We will keep a constant watch on the movement of pilgrims. We will not even allow people wearing Cross or other symbols belonging to any other religions on Yadagirigutta,” she said.
