Shirsi (Karnataka): Today the ghosts of corrupt politicians, increasing incidence of atrocities on Hindus by the secular leaders, conversion and Jihadi terrorism that are bent on uprooting Hindu dharma and the half-dead Hindus who choose to ignore them are looming large on the nation and Hindu dharma menacingly. The Hindus have united as one big force for the first time in the Shirsi town, which is known for the potent Deity Sree Maarikamba Mata. They vented their strong determination to remove the black clouds over Shirsi, the land of saints who have gifted spirituality to the world, and to hoist the Gudi of a Hindu self-rule. The 1500-strong ardent Hindus audience present at the Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha of HJS in Yog Mandir grounds here have also resolved to keep aflame the Hindu radiance!

The Sabha commenced with the recital of Vedic mantras by Shri. R.N. Bhat, a student in Shri. Saunda Math and groups of priests. Present on the occasion were Shrimad Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shri. Shrimad Gangadharendra Saraswati Mahaswamy of Shri. Saunda Swarnavalli Mahasansthanam; Pujya Shri. Siddalinga Mahaswamy of Shri Karuneshwar Math of Aandol and president for Karnataka state of Sree Ram Sena Sanghatana; Shri. Rajendra Bhatt, ardent Hindutwavadi of Karkal; Shri. Mohan Gauda of Dharmashakti Sena; Shri. Vinod Kamat of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Shivanand Prabhu, spokesperson of HJS for Karnataka state.

To begin with, Pujya Shri. Siddalinga Mahaswamy lighted the holy lamp. The respectable personalities present on the dais were honoured with shawls and pictures of Sree Ram. Shri. Prabhakar Padiyar of HJS narrated the Samiti’s activities with regard to religious awakening. The compering was done by Mrs. Kaveri and Shri. Vivek Pai.

Hindu youths should become a live bomb! – Pujya Shri. Siddaling Mahaswamy

The Congress government is in a deep slumber for the last 60 years, reminiscent of the sleep of Kumbhakarna. HJS has organised this programme to wake it up. Such programmes should happen everywhere. The saints and the soldiers are the sentinels of the country. The saints are on high pedestal in Hindu dharma; but today they do not take any action for religious awakening among the masses. Today there are crores of youths in the country; but they also do not take any action for the nation and the dharma. The British police raided the ashram of Swami Shraddhanand to check whether bombs were manufactured there. When they did not get anything and were about to return, Swami Shraddhanand stopped them, pointed at the boys in the ashram and said, “These boys are the live bombs and there is no guarantee when they will descend on the British empire!” Today’s youth ought to become like the boys of the Swami.

If you want to change the society, start from yourself! – Mohan Gauda

We have gathered here today and are sitting for so long because it is our desire to do something for the dharma, the nation and their protection. We are ready to sit for longer. We should remember one thing – if we wish to bring into practice a thought of conviction and wish to make positive changes in the society according to the thought, the most essential and important thing is that we should start it from ourselves. The society, which does not think about its protection and does not retaliate for the atrocities being perpetrated on it, deserves to be destroyed and it is destroyed for sure. Do not think of the protection of other weak persons; first think whether you have the capacity to protect yourself and whether you are united for the purpose!

Lack of pride for dharma responsible for sorry state of the nation – Shivanand Prabhu

Due to the influence of the western culture, the Hindus today do not know what is religious behaviour, how to do it and what is meant by harm to the dharma. So the anti-Hindu incidents that happen blatantly at random go unnoticed like not behaving religiously, drawing the pictures of Deities in any wrong manner, being cowardly passive at the provocative statements about our dharma or the Deities. The great Hindu culture is being trampled upon by films like ‘The Love Guru’. In the first place the pride for religion itself is on decline, which has resulted in the decline in our pride for the nation. The pride for religion is the foundation of pride for nation. This very foundation is shattered in us Hindus and hence the nation has come to such a sordid state. If the Hindu dharma disappears from the earth, the storehouse of knowledge about spirituality will also be destroyed and human being will be left with no path to Self-Realisation. If it happens, it would be the greatest sin.

For protection of the nation and dharma, perform Vyashti sadhana! – Vinod Kamat

We have hypothecated our intellect due to the influence of the western culture and are blindly doing whatever the Westerners tell us to do. Instead of a namaskar, we do hand shake. Instead of calling our parent Aai and Baba, we call Mummy and Pappa. Instead of giving best wishes for New Year on the day of Gudi Padwa, we exchange greetings on 1st January. Instead of celebrating the birthday in a Hindu style, we celebrate it in a Christian style by cutting a cake. By following this method, we are in a way accepting the slavery of the Christians. The root cause of the miseries, instability and lack of peace is that we have discarded our dharma.

To have remedy on the situation, we should undertake individual spiritual practice i.e. Vyashti sadhana, which in other words means we should follow religion at every step in our life. Taking necessary actions for the protection of the nation and dharma is a collective spiritual practice i.e. Samashti sadhana. But for taking such actions, we need strength i.e. divine energy, which enhances our mind-energy. The chances of our victory then increase. The only way to get the mind-energy is to do individual spiritual practice.

Teach the children Hindu culture! – Shri Rajendra Bhatt, ardent Hindu from Karkal

Due to the efforts put in by our ancestors and the impressions they have created on us, the Hindu dharma has survived for thousands of years. Efforts were made to destroy Hindu culture right from the British educationist Lord Macaulay to Nehru. The missionary schools are telling the girl students ‘not to wear bangles in hand and a necklace because it prevents concentration; not to put a ‘bindi’ on forehead as it increases attraction’.  This is being done with a view to take the girls away from Hindu culture. The parents who sent their wards in English school should ponder over this. In olden days, the mornings started with the verse ‘Karaagre Vasate Lakshmi…..’ and with circumambulations to a Tulsi plant. The impressions of Hindu culture were imbibed on their mind right from their childhood.

But today, the parents see the western programmes and those with overtures of obscenity together with their wards. Naturally the students get the same impressions on their mind. The World Health Organisation has declared that if we sit in a ‘Padmasan’ position, we will not get heart ailments. If we take five circumambulations to a Tulsi plant, we will not contract diseases of breath. It is ironical that our Bharatiya culture of the ancient sages and seers is being taught to us by the foreigners! To change this situation, first teach Hindu culture to our wards!
