H.H. Swami Sanvit Somgiriji Maharaj’s assistance in the mission of propagation of Dharma by Sanatan Sanstha and HJS

1. Introduction :

1 A. H.H. Swami Sanvit Somgiriji Maharaj was born on 23.11.1943 at Bikaner, Rajasthan. In the year 1966, he completed B.E. (Mechanical) from Jodhpur University and joined there as a lecturer. In the year 1971 he resigned from the job and became an ascetic. Since then he has been propagating Vedas day in and day out. He established an institute ‘Manav Prabodhan Pranyas’, which implements many programmes. In order to spread the art of shooting, he established ‘Sanvit Shooting Institute’ at Bikaner. He was felicitated with ‘The Vivekanand Seva Samman’ award in the year 2001.

1B. Characteristics : Maharaj is highly educated, and many books written by him are published. He is very much respected in the society. Still, Maharaj possesses much love and humility. He appears as a father when approached. He is very proud of Hindu Dharma and dislikes the practice adopted by few sects treating Dharma as a commodity in the market and declaring themselves as incarnations of God. He does not compromise with the Principles of Dharma. His disciples Mr. Surendraji Brahmachari and Secretary Vinodji are also of very loving nature like Maharaj. He never let us feel that we belonged to some other organisation.

2. Efforts made to organise an exhibition and selling centre of sattvik products at Bikaner !

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, we tried to organise an exhibition about education on Dharma, exhibition and selling centre of Holy texts and sattvik products produced by Sanatan Sanstha at Bikaner. By obeying the orders from H.H. Onkaranand Maharaj of Jodhpur, Shrimati Kamalabahan Choudhari took us to ancient and grand Shri Laleshwar Mahadev temple.

3.  Darshan of H.H. Swami Sanvit Somgiriji Maharaj in the temple

On that occasion, we met Brahmachari Surendraji. He comprehended the entire subject. He was especially pleased with knowledge that we belonged to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. He regularly visits the website of Samiti. He praised the movement of Samiti on the website against the denigration being carried out in the films. Later, he gave us the primary permission for the exhibition and invited us to put up the exhibition on Mahashivratri after discussing with H.H. Swami Sanvit Somgiriji Maharaj. He also invited us to partake Holy Sacrament in the temple itself. When we reached the temple in the morning, we had Darshan of H.H. Swami Sanvit Somgiriji Maharaj. Maharaj said, “I have visited your exhibition in Ujjain Kumbh Mela. Your mission is very good.”

4. A place for the exhibition in the Shri Laleshwar Mahadev temple at Shivbadi

Later, Secretary Shri. Vinodji provided us  a place for the exhibition in the pandal erected in the area of the main temple. In fact, exhibition of Holy texts of Maharaj was planned to be held at that place. However, we had been allotted half the place from His exhibition. During the guidance from Maharaj, he narrated the information about Sanstha and appealed the devotees to visit the exhibition. He also praised the mission of Sanstha.

5. Maharaj visiting the exhibition and asking devotees to purchase Holy texts

After His guidance was over, Maharaj visited the exhibition. He asked devotees to purchase few Holy texts. On this occasion, 30 local youth  had come as volunteers to perform seva of crowd management during Mahashivratri festival.

6. When we went to meet Maharaj, He asked us to start the copy of monthly Sanatan Prabhat in the temple and ordered entire series of Holy texts by Sanatan Sanstha

Later, we went to meet Maharaj after the lapse of 2-3 days. He spared nearly 2 hours and heard every subject. He asked the Secretary to immediately start a copy of the Monthly Sanatan Prabhat and ordered entire series of Holy texts by Sanatan Sanstha. He also asked for boards about education on Dharma for displaying in the temple. He jokingly said, “Now that so much material would be received here, why not start your office here itself ?” Maharaj interacted with us very freely. As a result, we too did not feel any tension and felt free in having conversation with him. During the interaction, few devotees used to come for meeting Maharaj. He also introduced them to us and appealed them to participate in our mission. He also asked us to organise a meeting for the local children.

7. Maharaj agreed to make efforts to attend All India Hindu Convention to be held in Goa

When he was invited to attend the fourth All India Hindu Convention to be held in Goa, Maharaj asked His disciples to study the possibility of attending the Convention at least for 2-3 days despite his busy schedule. Later, he made us partake mahaprasad and arranged for a lift in the Ashram’s vehicle till the place of our stay.

8. Maharaj attending the programme of guidance by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and appreciating it

After 2 days, a programme of guidance by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was organised in the temple. Maharaj attended the same in person. He appreciated the programme on listening to the entire subject. Four devotees out of those attended started subscription for Monthly Sanatan Prabhat. Similarly, Maharaj said, “Next time, we would organise the programme on a large scale. Seekers coming here for the spread of Dharma are free to stay and partake Holy Sacrament here without any hesitation.”
