Satara (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook a drive to prevent abuse of national flags taking place through use of paper and plastic flags, on the occasion of Republic Day. This drive received 100 % response and not a single plastic flag was found in the city. (Why the task which HJS can do in the absence of any kind of machinery available to it, cannot be done by the Government Administration despite whole Government machinery at its disposal ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

HJS had collected 13, 500 plastic flags 3 years back; it had collected 9000 plastic flags two years back whereas last year, only 3 such flags were found. This year, however, there was not a single plastic flag available for sale in Satara and there was no sale of flags even in other forms like badges etc.

In ‘Nakshatra Vastu-vikri Exhibition’, Shri. Sunil Dalvi and Shri. Vinayak Kulkarni of HJS observed that the national flag was kept in distorted manner. HJS members explained the subject to the concerned after which they accepted their mistake and apologized for the same.

HJS members went to Tehsildar Sanap for depositing the flags. He said, “It is my favourite topic. People are now scared due to relevant laws. As per the Government’s instructions, a committee has been set up to take action on issues related to national flags. Your creating awareness is also helping. Now, deposit these flags with Nayab Tehsildar.” Accordingly, the flags were deposited with Nayab Tehsildar Shri. Balkrushna More.
