Unprompted response to HJS agitations

May 12, 2006

Mumbai: Anti-Hindu and anti-national painter M F Hussain has inflicted grave insult upon deities worshipped by Hindus and 'Mother India' by drawing their obscene and nude pictures. The Central government has issued orders to initiate action against Hussain even then; auction of his pictures has been organized at the 'Saffron Art Gallery' for two days on 10th and 11th May 2006. To protest against this auction, the HJS members demonstrated in front of the Saffron Art Gallery. There was a spontaneous response to this agitation from the members of the public. Hussain has treaded on feelings of all Hindus and nationalists by drawing such paintings which are a stigma to the very art. These paintings depicting perverted mentality of Hussain, should not be sold was the demand made by HJS to the management of Saffron Art Gallery. Many staunch Hindus and patriots not only from India but from all over the world have made the same demand through emails. But the management of Saffron Art Gallery deliberately ignored HJS' demand and gone ahead with the auction. In a way, they have supported Hussain's anti-national and anti-Hindu activities. Members of HJS therefore, started demonstrations in front of the Saffron Art Gallery from 10.00 a.m. with placard and banners and were raising slogans against the state government for shielding Hussain. Instead of arresting Hussain as per the orders of the Central Government, the government is providing protection to the auction. Each and every person visiting the auction is being thoroughly checked by the police staff deployed there.
