Kalyan (Maharashtra): Police had imposed a ban on performing puja of Sree Durgadi Devi for two days during Navaratri as it coincided with ‘Ramzan Idd’ celebrated by Muslims. In this background, once again discussions were held by Shri. D. Shivanandan, the Police Commissioner and Shiv Sainiks and police agreed to lift the ban temporarily. Therefore, Hindus will be able to perform puja and have ‘darshan’ of Sree Durgadi Devi even during Idd. The above information was given by Shri. Arvind More, city-chief of Shiv Sena to the reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’. (What is the meaning of ‘temporarily’? Does it mean that police will put the ban again? In the nation where Hindus are supposed to be in majority, police are not letting Hindus observe their customs and rituals – Editor)
     
A meeting was held earlier on 1st October in this connection with the Dy. Commissioner and Commissioner of Police that was attended by Shri. More along with a few Shiv Sainiks. In the last meeting, however, Shri. Eknath Shinde and Shri. Subhash Desai, MLAs of Shiv Sena were also present with a few Shiv Sainiks. Shri. Desai said that Muslims sit on the road to read ‘namaz’ and block the way and police want to ban Hindus from worshipping so that Muslims are not inconvenienced. (Hindus have never caused any inconvenience to Muslims that police has taken such decision – Editor). Instead, police should discuss withJihadicommunity and their leaders and arrange to leave half the road open for Hindus and other half for Muslims. (Although Muslims have always oppressed Hindus, still Hindus suggest leaving half the road open for Muslims. Will Muslims give even an inch of place to Hindus in the area where there is mosque? – Editor)
      
Police have therefore, agreed to allow Hindus to take ‘darshan’ of Sree Durgadi Devi for the time being. Now they will discuss the matter with Muslims and if need be, there would be one more meeting in which members of both the communities will be called.

Kalyan (Maharashtra): Police have issued order banning puja of Durgadi Devi at Durgadi Fort during Navaratri festival as it would inconvenience Muslims in celebration of Idd which falls during Navaratri. In this background, Shiv Sena has warned to stage agitations. The Police Commissioner has called Shri. Arvind More, the city-chief of Shiv Sena for meeting to discuss the matter. In this context, Shri. More and other Shiv Sainiks from Kalyan met Shri. Anupkumar Sinh, the Dy. Commissioner of Police and later, met Shri. Shivanandan, the Commissioner of Police. Shri. Sinh, however, denied issue of any such order banning puja. He said that discussions would be held with leaders of Hindus and Muslims and then a decision would be taken by seniors. (Shri. Sinh has changed his stance when Hindus warned of starting agitations. Hindus should not forget such anti-Hindu officials – Editor)
       
In the meetings, Shiv Sena clarified their stand that they have no objection to Muslims reading ‘Namaz’; but also said that in case, ban was imposed on puja, they would be ready for agitations. The Commissioner has therefore, called another meeting.

'Durgadi Devi' puja banned on 'Durgadi' Fort for convenience of Muslims

Kalyan (Maharashtra): The custom followed for more a number of years, to celebrate Navaratri festival on ‘Durgadi’ Fort and perform puja of ‘Durgadi’ Devi will be banned for two days and Durgadi Devi temple will also remain closed during Navaratri. The reason is, this year ‘Idd’ is falling during the Navaratri festival and Muslims can not be disturbed at any cost. The police have issued orders to the above effect. (Police force, maintained from the money paid by Hindus by way of tax, has never issued orders imposing ban on reading ‘namaz’ during Ganesh festival. What right do they have to issue such orders to Hindus – Editor).
     
Police have also ordered to remove the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj put up by Hindus during Navaratri on the Fort and remove all saffron flags. (In his own State, orders are given to remove Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue. One is not a Hindu if one’s blood does not boil after reading the above – Editor).
      
Hindus are enraged after learning about such ‘Tughalaqui’ order issued by police. This is only to woo Muslims that religious sentiments of Hindus are trampled. (It is unfortunate that Hindus only get enraged. Had such order been issued in case of a mosque, one need not be told about its effect – Editor)
      
Shiv Sena takes initiative in celebrating Durgadi Devi’s Navaratrotsava. The festival is starting from 12th October and 14th October is the day of ‘Idd’. Police called an urgent meeting of Shiv sainiks. (Why meeting of only Shiv Sainiks? In the history of India, have Hindus ever troubled Muslims? If at all, police are so fond of holding meetings, they should have called Muslims who are the only ones to cause riots in the country – Editor).
        
In this meeting, Shri. Anupkumar Sinh, a police officer instructed Shiv Sainiks that on 13th October, a marquee will have to be erected for Muslims to read ‘namaz’, therefore, on 13th and 14th October i.e. for 2 days, the temple would have to be kept closed in the morning from 5.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and even ‘puja’ should not be performed in the temple. (Will police dare to ask Muslims to change the place for erecting marquee? – Editor). Police also instructed to keep the shops on the Fort selling puja material like garlands etc. closed during the said timing. He said further that no saffron flags should be seen during the two days on the Fort. (Hindus would feel that they were living in Pakistan as the police have become so helpless and slavish where Muslims are concerned. Hindus must keep a note of such policemen when there would be revolution to protect Dharma  – Editor)
