Khulna? (Bangladesh) : Hindu businessman Tusher Kanti Paul was taken into custody by Dumuria Police in connection with a case related to trafficking of women lodged by Md. Azizul Sheikh. However, the F.I.R. does not name Tusher Kanti Paul anywhere.

?D?eceased Tusher’s wife alleged that the police arrested Tashar for extracting money. She revealed that the police had already taken Taka 10,000/- from the family and were pressurizing them to bring more money amounting to taka 5 lakh.

Kazi Kamal Hossain, Inspector of Police, (Investigation) Dumuria PS beat Tusher mercilessly in the police station and brought him before the office of Additional Superintendent of Police, Khulna for further interrogation. But it is unfortunate that the victim died due to head injury on 15.11.2014. BDMW is collecting evidence that the Additional Superintendent of Police, Khulna participated in manhandling the victim for squeezing money in lieu of punishment.

Tusher Kanti was taken into Khulna Medical College Hospital and he was pronounced dead on 15.11.2014. Sonadanga Police recorded this as a case of ‘Unnatural Death’ without naming any accused in this connection.
