Hindus should take such anti-Dharma channels to task, in lawful manner, that are insulting our Saints through TV serials !

Will these TV channels dare to insult seats of worship of non – Hindus ?

Mumbai : A TV serial based on the life of great Saint Tukaram Maharaj is presently being telecast on E TV channel. In this serial, wife of Saint Tukaram is shown as the prime, glorified character instead of Saint Tukaram Maharaj; hence, it is hurting religious sentiments of Hindus, who revere their Saints. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has therefore, written a letter to the channel demanding to telecast this serial based on true incidents.

. . . the reality of wife of Saint Tukaram

 1. Considering the life history of Saint Tukaram Maharaj, films made earlier on him have also depicted his wife as a belligerent woman. The qualities of his nature like tolerance, his earnest devotion towards Lord Pandurang, his remaining calm and collected even during difficult times and his detachment etc. are shown while leading married life. His life teaches us how to lead ideal life.

 2. This serial, however, shows Jijau alias Awadaai, the wife of Saint Tukaram, as a very calm, tolerant woman who gets along with everyone which is exactly opposite of what  her nature was; therefore, it shows life history of Saint in a totally different manner which is far away from the truth.

 3. Saint Tukaram Maharaj’s devotion, his devotional compositions, his ‘gaathaa’ and teachings are valuable treasure for people. It is expected that the serial also reflects the truth. It is most condemnable that life history of a great Saint is being presented in a perverted manner only with the view of entertaining viewers.
