Tiles with pictures of deities removed from hospital

August 26, 2007

By Staff Reporter

Chopda (Maharashtra): Tiles with pictures of deities were fitted on the walls of staircase in Shalini Nursing Home to prevent people from spitting. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) members explained to the staff of the hospital that how fitting of tiles with deities pictures amounts to denigration of the deities. The members of HJS called on Dr. Vivek Jaiswal of Shalini Nursing Home and enlightened him on the issue. Dr. Jaiswal accepted his mistake and agreed to remove the tiles. On the following day as HJS members went to the Nursing Home to check, they found that the tiles in question were removed. Dr. Jaiswal thanked HJS members for making him aware about the matter.
