Sangli (Maharashtra), 19th October – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been submitting memorandum to District Administration for many years now; demanding ban on sale of crackers with pictures of Deities and our great national leaders. The office of District Collector took a note of the same this year and has got made a stamp in this context. This stamp is affixed on license issued to every vendor selling crackers. It has been written on the stamp that necessary legal action would be taken if crackers with pictures of Hindu Deities and great national leaders were kept on sale.

Shri. Sanjay Shinde, the Resident Dy. District Collector has notified all sellers of crackers on behalf of State Administration. There are more than 450 license-holders. All licences have now been stamped. It is observed that every year, there is reduction in sale of crackers with pictures of Deities; owing to HJS pursuing the matter and awareness created towards the same in the district.
