Hindu Success : Denigrating paintings of Sri Ganesh removed from exhibition owing to HJS opposition

Hindus should offer gratitude at God’s feet for this success !

Mumbai, 16th October – An exhibition-cum-sale of work by anti-Hindu painter Santosh Manjavkar is held at ‘Prabodhankar Natyagruha’ in Borivali in which denigrating paintings of Shri Ganesh are kept on sale. Few of such denigrating pictures of Shri Ganesh have since been removed due to opposition raised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti; after intervention of police. HJS activists are trying to lodge a complaint with Borivali police station against Manjavkar. 1. It was observed that there were paintings denigrating Sri Ganesh displayed in exhibition put up by Manjavkar of his paintings. In many paintings, Sri Ganesh has been drawn in desecrating manner. On 14th October, activists of HJS, viz. Shri. Dattatreya Bendre, Ms. Vaishali Bhandari, Smt. Rupa Vaidya, devout Hindus like Shri. Deepak Joshi and Shri. Charudatta Keni went to the venue of the exhibition; met Shri. Manjavkar and requested him to withdraw the denigrating paintings.

2. Shri. Manjavkar accepted that the pictures were not proper; but he refused to withdraw the paintings as his invested money was at stake.

3.  On 16th October, Shri. Seemit Sarmalkar and Shri. Keni of HJS, and Shri. Sarvesh Vishwakarma of VHP once again met Shri. Manjavkar and tried to explain him about denigration; but he made false allegations against these activists of threatening him.

4. Shri. Saramalkar lodged a complaint with Borivali police station against Manjavkar. One police constable went to the venue of the exhibition and asked Manjavkar to remove objectionable paintings; on which Manjavkar advised police and HJS activists that they would not be able to do anything, since election code of conduct was in force. He told them that he would not allow them to remove even a single painting from the exhibition and called his advocate. The police constable, therefore, left from there without taking any action.

5. Few alert pro-Hindu activists called up police control room lodging complaint against the exhibition. The local police were given instructions to take action; after which, police reached and inspected the paintings. They, however, said that they didn’t find anything objectionable; thus avoiding to take any action. HJS activists were, nevertheless, firm about denigration; so later, police had no option but to remove few controversial paintings from the exhibition.

6. HJS activists went to police station to register case when police shouted at them and asked them whether cases should be registered against them. Police tried to pressurize the activists. (Will police dare to shout at fanatics in this manner ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Still the activists did not budge; therefore, finally, police had to take down statements of activists and they were asked to go to the police station on the following day.
