VHP to start agitation against 'Temple take over' Act

July 20, 2007

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra): A meeting was held of Vishwa Hindu Parishada (VHP) covering Konkan region at Arya Samaj Mandir in Vashi. It was decided to start agitation against ‘Temple take-over’ Act proposed to be passed by the State Government.

The meeting was addressed by Shri. Sharad Birajdar, Maharashtra Region Convener of Bajarang Dal. He said that if temples are taken over by the Government, management of temples would fall apart and devotees will be inconvenienced. The Government’s motive in excluding worship places belonging to other religions is very clear.
