Incongruous claim of Government – Vyankatesh Abadev

Jalgaon (Maharashtra): Shri. Vyankatesh Abadev, the Convener of Committee set up by VHP to oppose taking over management of temples by the Government said in a meeting that the Government’s claim that the above Act is in the interest of the people is incongruous. The Government is claiming that it is its duty to stop mismanagement of temples when all Government machinery is totally corrupt. While bringing out the truth behind utilization of funds belonging to temples, Shri. Aabadev said that in the State of Karnataka, out of Rs. 72 crores collected from 250000 temples in the State, Rs.49.80 crores were utilized towards madarassas and Haj pilgrimage, Rs. 10 crores for renovation of churches and balance Rs. 22 crores for other religions. How can one guarantee that the same thing will not happen even in Maharashtra. It is also possible that a Muslim or Christian administrator would be appointed by the Government to manage the temples. Thus, the Act is an assault on Hindu Dharma.

A meeting will be held of saints and religious leaders on the day of ‘Ashadhi Ekadashi’ at Pandharpur. Shri. Abadev appealed that the Chief Minister should attend the meeting and clarify the stand of the Government. He also informed that committees to oppose the above Act will be formed in every village.
